Glacier - Crater Lake Trip

July 24th - 31st Some of us Washington X-Riders are making a run to Glacier National Park. We will be leaving from Sedro-Wooley (Gateway to the NorthCascades) on the morning of the 24th (Sunday) at 9am. Heading across the North Cascades, Sherman Pass, and on to Glacier. Then down through Missoula, Lolo Pass, along the Salmon River and across Eastern Oregon to Medford, where we will hook up with the NorCal VTX Riders for their annual Crater Lake Run on the 29th. See the NorCal post below. I know most of the planned rides are shorter weekend rides, that is why I am posting this one early. We will hit some of the best roads in the West. Put these dates on your calender and lets head to Oregon. The past two years we have headed to Medford and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at 1501 S.Pacific Hwy,Medford Or 97501 541-732-1400 There is a Comfort Inn right next door also. We can stay there Friday night and then take an awesome ride out the Rogue River Valley and then enter Crater Lake National Park and take a ride around the lake.Last year we took the back entrance out the park and had a great lunch in a lodge on Diamond Lake.From there we can take a different route back to highway 5 and head to Corvalis and visit Geez.We can either stay Sat. night in Corvalis or impose on Geez and camp there. Riders can then head back to Calif. the following day (Sunday) or Monday.We can figure the details out near the ride date.

Just got my room for July 25th in West Glacier, Montana. The Apgar Village Lodge. http://www.westglacier.com/ They have 4 rooms or so left right now. They also have a sister motel The West Glacier Motel that has only one room left. The Apgar is right on the lake.

Itinerary for Glacier NP – Crater Lake Ride

1. July 24th – Leave Sedro-Woolley (AM/PM at corner of Hwy 20 and Hwy 9) at 9am. North Cascades Hwy, Okanogan, Sherman Pass.
2. July 25th – Hwy 2 to West Glacier, MT.
3. July 26th – Ride through Glacier National Park
4. July 27th – Ride Lolo Pass
5. July 28th – Ride Hwy 20 to 395 South to Lakeview, OR area
6. July 29th – Ride to Medford, stay at the Holiday Inn Express (http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/1/en/hd/mfror?irs=null). Meet up with NorCal X-Riders.
7. July 30th – Crater Lake Run. Head north and stay in Corvalis at Geez's Place
8. July 31st – Home

A little change in plan. We are going to camp instead of staying in motels. I have cancelled all reservations except Medford. We are just going to stay wherever the road takes us. Should make for an even better trip. We are still taking the same route. Hopefully somemore people will be able to make the trip now. I know one person is back in.
