View Full Version : Hooters is Anti-Sports Bike
I posted this same message in the "Hooters" thread but I think it deserves it's own topic.
Did you guys hear the announcement last night from the owner about sport bikes not being welcome on bike night?
I think that's a load of crap. I think the owner is looking to make more money by assuming the sport bikers don't spend as much.
Any thoughts?
I friend of mine was there and told me about it.
The owner is a Harley rider, what's next? no Japense cruisers build in Ohio?[b[/b]

That's gonna float about as good as the Titanic. I can't see any reason why they would do that. I didn't see anyone acting out of line on crotch rockets. And there was alot of them there. Not that I think it'll hurt their business, but it will put a good dent in it on Wednesdays.
There is a guy at work who rides a crotch rocket and he and a bunch of his friends go up every Wednesday. He is of the militant type so I can imagine this will cause a big stink and not go w/o a fight.

Wow Hooters a communist restaurant?? Hmmmmmm
did hear about no colors aloud on bike night..but not the sport bikes.
maybe the number of sport bikes is rising and the owner is overhearing people bad mouthing sport bikes? next like you said what's next no jap crusers?? If Hooters want's a all HD night then so be it ,but it's "bike night" not Harley night  send them to mikes HD if that's the case...
just my 2 cents.
I think it's great that they are there :D :D it adds a nice ballance to the event .

I've only been one time looked like there were no problems with any particular type of bike. I for one enjoy looking at all different kinds of bikes. Hooters is a public restaurant and I believe if sports bikes want to be there they can.

I dont really believe that. I know the owner of Hooters. He wouldnt know a Harley if he fell over one. Hes a money man. If you see a high dollar BMW parked in the lot with the bikes, hes there. He owns all the Hooters in Delaware. Money is money to him. He doesnt care what you ride. As far as the no colors. That wont happen. Can you see one of those scrawny guys that work there telling one of the Pagans he cant wear his colors? I think they are aliitle nervous about the Hells Angels coming around with the Pagans there after all that Philadelphia stuff. I saw a Hells Angel 2 weeks ago there wearing his colors

No not saying that there is. I have no problems with them myself. I used to hang out with a few.
Oh and I mentioned this supposed ban o0n Sport Bikes to a guy at work and he said he heard about it. Said they were talking about having Sport Bike night on Thursday. I thiught they had car night then.
I clarified with my friend who was there. He was talking to some type of regional manager that was responsible for 'bike night' who said he rode a Harley, it was not the owner of Hooters claiming to be a Harley owner.

The reason they dont have sportbikes anymore is because a guy on one was messing around and ran into a couple bikes. NO MORE SPORTBIKES. T-Bone Did you see the confrontation with the police when the group of sportbikes just blew in and parked? It was great. End result was they left

I was right there in the middle of it. Well off to the side. A guy I work with was one of the ones talking with the police. It was his group that blasted in. They all went over to the Enterprise parking lot. Alot of the cruiser guys went over with them to show their support. They eventually got run off from there too and went to Fantasias. Fantasias has been trying to get their own bike night going and this may help their cause. There were alot of pissed of people there last night.
Funny thing is Hooters told them they are more than welcome to come over and drink their beer and eat their wings, but they can't park in their parking lot. And from what I am hearing the beer has alot to do with it. The Sport Bike riders don't drink so they aren't spending money. The owner wouldn't even talk to them to give them a reason why either. I do know the News Journal was there and will be doing a story on it and Channel 10 has been contacted as well.
Personally I think the whole thing is BS. A bike is a bike. And to change it from Bike Night to Cruiser Night when the sports show up is totally assinine. I would have loved to see everyone there show their support by getting on their bikes and leaving. Maybe then Hooters will see that you can't discriminate just because you ride a certain kind of bike.
Oh and I see they didn't enforce the ban on colors.

Considering 90% of them are H-RL-Y riders, (needed to fly below sensor-radar), they'll never support other bikers.
My other offer still stands...
How about an X-night somewhere else?

I personally Agree that we should talk to a couple of other establishment and seee about getting a bike night together somewhere else.
There are to many little girlish attitutes (no disrespect to our women riders) about who can and cannot do what ,when , and where at hooters.
Now dont get me wrong I enjoy going there but it is mainly for those who do fly colors and HD riders. That is just my personal oppinion.
Shouldnt we all just get along... abate is about equality and they dont discriminate why should anyone else.

For one, the OWNER of Hooters was not there. I know the owner. I think you are referring to the manager. I do not believe they are discriminating against sport bikes. What the sportbike riders should do is goto the few a$$holes that cause the problems and make them stop it. Everyone suffered because of the actions of a few. The group that pulled in were all reving their engines, speeding in the lot, and showing off. Then when they left they were doing burnouts and last week a guy dumped his bike on 13. THAT is what ruins it for everyone. The same thing happened a few years ago with their car cruise. They used to be packed every Thurs night. Well, guys were doing major burnouts in the lot and dragracing on 13. They stopped having the cruise nights. They just recently started them back up. Imagine over 150 people out front of Hooters chanting guys on to do burnouts and race. There was so much rubber smoke you couldnt even see Carmen Ford accross the street. It was out of hand. As far as the colors I talked to the manager and asked him why. It was what I thought. A few weeks ago there was a Hells Angel there and with all the Pagans that goto Hooters they didnt want a war going on since the leader of the Philadelphia chapter H-A was killed by a Pagan. Since I saw that Hells Angel there I have since carried my .38 in a ankle holster when I goto bike night (I have a permit)
Bottom line is:: Hooters owns the property bike nite is on. If they want you too leave. You leave. Whether its you as an individual. Or you ride a sportbike, Harley, or VTX. It is very unfortunate that all the sportbike riders have to suffer. Im sure it will blow over after a few weeks.
