Hey Folks,
Just wanted to update you all, that I am back into the swing of things full time now
and back to the grind "WORK" and feeling great, including that ever burning itch to ride!!
I was thinking about July 10th?? How about you, maybe we can pull this off
with out weather being a problem!!
I already scheduled that day out on the road for a NH VTX Ride to some location..
we can take route up to Lake Sunapee or plan a morning run up the 93 slab to the North Country
spend the day up that way with some north country X riders and ride south later that day..
I taste Ice Cream!!
"I wish"
I updated the WEB SITE so please check it out, there is a patch update there as well!!!
And the New Hampshire Chapter site is up and running on the VTXOA BBS, I want to thank
Lamont from HDL and the VTXOA web master who set this up for to use..
NH VTX Chapter Forum
Let me know and I'll work on some maps??

I'd be up for getting some x'ers together - I'm hoping that we will get some to really commit and take the time for a group ride. I know that if people want my father would give deals on ice cream at his shop in berlin - he might even dust of his x for the ride.
Lets get this going and get some people together!
BTW - thanks for link to the VTX commercial - I'm glad they based the commercial off my bad ass black C model - lol

Hey Roger!
Got back from 3200 miles in 8 days on Saturday. Went to DC, then to Tennessee, did the Tail of the Dragon ride, some riding in Kentucky, West Virginia, VA, PA, NJ, NY, the Berkshires, and finally back home.
The X was a wicked comfortable ride. My throttle hand gave me some issues - a throttle lock will be on before the next 500+ mile trip. The highway pegs were simply THE difference between a ride and a comfortable one.
I am up for the July 10 ride. I like rides North of the Notch - pretty country up there.

If you wanted to i'd let you crash here if you needed a place. Haven't seen much activity on the ride status? Wife will be in the MSF course on the 10th for the last day - not sure when it gets out, so probably would be solo for the ride. Assuming she passes (shouldn't be a problem) I'm sure she will be getting her picture taken for the new license asap and will be out riding very shortly thereafter. Tried talking her into a new 1300X - but since we are signing on the house the next friday she has decided a used older bike for the summer, then hopefully a upgrade in the near future.

Last I heard the kanc was torn up from bear notch road towards conway - if you hit bear notch road to 302 then you could go either way and not hit construction - haven't been over that way since mc week - timber if you are out there, have you been through?
VTX-NH
06-28-2005, 04:38 PM
There are a lot of pretty rides in NH without going on the Kanc. If the road is all torn up, let's shoot for NORTH of the notch and the riding will be less crowded anyway. Now, the roads may not exactly be smooth like butter...
btalon
06-28-2005, 05:20 PM
No problem if we don't go over the kanc - there are plenty of sights to see and places to go either way. Spoke to my father again and he is keen on the idea of a bunch of x's stopping into the ice-cream shop for a treat - stated he'd give us a good deal and anytime would be a good time for him.

I agree, We can ask btalon to put together a route while up in the area, I was thinking we can meet the North Country X's at Fosters Crossroads at the corner of Rte 3 and 302 ..
And Btalon give us a route from there??
Howz that sound??

Np - only thing is if we meet at Fosters - John Foster will give me a hard time, don't believe anything he might tell you about me. Let me know what kind of route you guys would like up here.

Hey Folks,
"Tenative Route"
Subject to Change
July 10th Thunder in the North Country (http://www.nh-x.com/rides/July10.htm)
New Hampshire VTX Riders
I would like to plan on meeting at the Mobil Station
Rte 93 North off Exit 10 "GO LEFT" Around 8:00 am
Mobil is on the right just after the Exxon Station..
Any X riders from North of the Hooksett Tolls
that would like to meet the group along the way let
me know and we can work stop details to let ya add
to the thunder..
The Hooksett Mobil Station has Rest Rooms, Dunkin Donuts
Of course Fuel and plenty of parking and just up the road from
93 north before the tolls..
I would think an 8:15 to 8:30 would be good time to leave and
run up rte 93 to exit 35 then to Fosters Crossroads in Twin Mt
to meet up with Btalon we should not need a fuel stop
as it's 97 miles from Exit 10 right to Fosters Crossroads..
Thats 45 min ride ride right?? ;-)
Alright how bout close to 1 1/2 hours to get to Fosters in Twin Mt. from
Exit 10 in Hooksett.
We will at least meet Btalon and possbly some other X riders
for a visit a ride some lunch with Ice Cream over at Btalon's dad's
place..
I was thinkin we could stay in the area for approxamatley
4 hours or so.. Departing the North Country to head south
around 1:30 PM putting the group back in Hooksett around 4:30 PM
I'll work some additional details with Btalon during our visit.
Ice Cream is definatley on the list!! 8-)
If you are planning on the ride please reply with
"July 10th" in the subject area of the email so we can
get a head count and count of X's just to keep
everyone in the loop!!
Please watch for updates via email and the
New Hampshire VTX Riders Forum
Have a great 4th of July and Ride Safe..

Update on the Kanc. This info comes from someone that works for the company doing the work on the Kanc. The construction has moved wets of Bear Notch Road. If you come out Bear Notch Road the road is torn up in both directions now.

Okay - just gave roger an update on the ride on the 10th - Talked to my parents and they are thrilled with the idea of a large group coming to the Ice Cream Shop - they also offered to cook us lunch there - they would be willing to host a cookout with hamburgers/hot dogs for us at the ice cream shop with ice cream for dessert!
If you guys are really serious about this we will need some definate numbers to figure out how much food will be needed.
As far as the ride goes - depends on timing, if we are early we can go up route 3 and across Route 110 from groveton to berlin and rumble into the shop around noon for lunch. If time is an issue when the group arrives in Twin at John Fosters, we can head up 3 to 115 and north to route 2, then into gorham and upto the shop. Just remember not to believe john if he's there - known him for over 11 years and I know he has some stories to tell you all - lol
Lets get some numbers for this and make the NH group a reality!

FINALLY - yes I was yelling - I'm loving the fact that a bunch of NH X'ers are going to finally get together and ride - I'm gonna be there for sure - no stopping me, even the threat of isolated t-storms doesn't deter me. My father is getting ready at the ice cream shop also - has some new picnic tables and will bring out the canopy for the cooking festivities. Should be a good time, bring your appetite!
