View Full Version : Crossing the causeway...
Is it just me, or is that the worst ride going from north to south? I broke my back on a bike , and that ride is almost to much. Just wondering if anyone else hates it as much I do. Might be just me and a broke back. I got to the second turn around and used it! :)

It could be the destination(what is south of the bridge). The ride north doesn't seem too bad although it does get boring if there isn't many boats or pelicans to watch. As for your back, I put a backrest on my Valk and it has helped a lot duing those longer trips. Not sure you seat will accept a backrest but something similiar might work, maybe a brace.
Its that darn kthump, kthump. I was wondering if a set of 440's might help. Guess I will go to New Orleans by way of slidell for now. Hope I survive going thru New Orleans east :D

I havent ridden on the causeway on my X but I heard it's a pain in most cases due to wind and to the North to South bound expantion joints up/down motion. kathump, kathump<<<you nailed it.

I hate  the bridge ride back to the South Shore. That lane is 20-25 years older than the lane heading North.
Got progressives, front and rear, on my '02 1800 VTX-C and that lane still beats the ***** out of me.
Great to have this board.
