Today I got to shake hands with Hilf from New York! What a long ride that was! (And he's only halfway done!)
Unfortunately for him, he blew out both progressive shocks by the time he got to town. My friendly Harley/Honda dealer has a new set being overnight freighted up for him. I'm sure that's costing a shiny nickle. Those shocks were completely blown too. Oil all over the place, mechanical noises when you move the rear suspension, and the one shock has started to actually mechanically fail. You could wiggle the shock and all the broken/loose parts let it flex side to side. Not good.
I wish I wasn't heading out of town in two hours, so I could show better hospitality.
I don't think I've ever seen so much stuff mounted on one Retro!
After getting his shocks replaced, he's going to head up to the Arctic Circle, and then head down the Parks. Due to schedule he probably won't even be able to hit Anchorage. I think he's going to take a left in Wasilla and burn on out of the state. He's got 8 days to get back home.
You know, you meet the nicest people on a Honda! :D :D :D :D
