Today I picked up VT 100 in Wilmington and rode northbound to Ludlow.

Beautiful day - 90+ My arms are BURNT.

Anyway...

Wilmington to Dover - 7 miles of freshly paved twisties.

Dover Area - ~1 mile of GRAVEL. Like 15 miles an hour gravel! Looks like they are getting ready to finish that paving soon.

Dover to Stratton - Frost heaves/Bumpy in spots, but otherwise great roads.

Smell of freshly cut hay and some road-killed skunks.

Got a few waves from little kids in the towns in between and a BIG smile from a red-headed hotty  working a hotdog stand outside of Londonderry.

Londonderry to Ludlow - Just nice roads and great scenery.

Stopped in to the Springfield Diner (AIR CONDITIONED!!!!) for some lunch then made my way across to NH to Marlow and down Rt. 10 back home.

Just to add to this a bit.

UxX and I rode Rt 100 from MA into VT. Nice scenery to the right with some sweet sweepers.

Picked up RT 8, very twisty with a large windfarm to the right.

Then to RT 9E....very fast scenic road and picked up RT 100 north again.

Shortly after that Dave put his GPS unit to work and found some very very nice twisties through a coupla covered bridges and some folks going for a swim. Sorry, it was kinda a blur at that point. :D

I will say this. Nearly all the roads we were on were in exceptional shape. Not much in the way of frost heaves or potholes or sand at all.

The roads were in excellent shape! I will have to save the track of my gps so I can figure out what roads those were!

Gps said take next left and prepare for twisties... I just followed! :D

i have rode the vt 100 from mass into willington, except i stayed on 100 instead of turning off to rt 8. nice ride. We stoped on 9 to get something to drink, then headed back onto 100. We then took a turnoff to rt 2 and stopped in greenfield for lunch. then took rt 2 back home to adams, Ma. this was a beautiful ride.

Be safe.

For what it's worth the northbound lane of RT 100 seems to be in better shape than the southbound lane. Must be all those heavy Ben & Jerrys trucks putting the deep tire grooves into the pavement going south. I am guessing the trucks are empty on the way back.
