He picked up a Honda shadow Ace DLX 750 if I recall correctly. Perfect size for a first bike imho.

Well, this evening my son and I hauled my cargo trailer down to the dumpsters and purged all the remodelling debris. Now that it's empty, I will get the jackstands under it and voila! I'll have a garage. :D Next I need to go buy a motorcycle jack and roll the bike in. And I guess get messy!

I have the choice of the Craftsman jack or the one they sell at Sam's club. I'll go read the forum history on that, but anybody up here have an opinion?

I have the Craftsman. Love that thing. I have heard other people that have had problems in the tech forum. I think the Sams Club one is about the same. Look at the differances between the two, like how your bike is strapped on to the jack etc.

I'll look and see if Sears is coming up on sale for ya. 8)

So we have another rider in Fairbanks. The 750 is a much better choice to start out with than a vtx. It willl keep up just fine under 75 mph. Hell I rode my 650 vstar for a while after I met the moose and It worked just fine. My bike should be ready late next week if the paint shop can get it handled. Good riding.

Did some reading on the board and found a lot of guys complaining about the Craftsman jacks dropping all their oil. I think I'd be getting a Craftsman if it had the lifetime warranty. Since it doesn't I'm going to give Schucks a call, and maybe get one there or at Sams.

Al,

You have too many motorcycles! Time to get some bikes in the paper! That way you can make room for MORE new motorcycles! :D :D :D I have sold both v stars although the black will be in my garage until September. The drifter was owned by the general manager of the motorcycle shop here in town and has progressive shocks, Mustang seat, power commander, hypercharger and cobra pipes and is the best looking drifter I've ever seen. I will post a photo or 2 after we bbq tonight and watch the fireworks. It looks alot like an Indian chief. Let me know how it goes with the springs. Elena and I may be up there in a few weeks on my x. Maybe we can go for a ride while she sees her girlfriends.

If I'm in town, it's a date! I'm on travel 10-15 July and 24-19 July - those are departure / arrival days.
