RadiX made this.........

Then I asked him for a Louisiana one. He was VERY nice enough to come up with this one............

I think either style would make a great patch.

I was just wondering. Should we consider what some have said about patches when choosing our design? I dont see any problem, but damn I'm wrong a lot! :?

Boogie,

Who made the shirt? Maybe we could incorporate Louisiana in it somewhere. I really like that design. I want to get a few and then get a vote from everyone.

Up for a ride on Saturday morning?

Here is the patch update:

I am waiting back from Viking on the costs to make the patch. Once I receive this, I will pass it along to everyone.

Hopefully it won't be too expensive.

Gumbo and guys, WE CAN NOT USE VIKINGS PATCH IF WE ARE A CLUB SITE SPONSOR'D BY HONDA DIRECT LINE. This could cause some major problems. ( Kinda like wearing a Pepsi jacket in a Coke plant.) Know what I mean? There is nothing wrong with us coming up with a totally original patch, however. I know you guys are in a hurry to get the club identity going and I am too. Let's get something that makes us unigue.

it sounds like everyone here likes the idea of a patch. and the flaming X seems to be the most popular idea. I know of a local embrodery shop here that might be able to get the job done. After dealling with a few websites with this I think it would be better (for me anyway) to deal with a local shop that will be able to make the patches per order (insteed of by multiples of 50). It might cost a little more due to the lack of bulk in the order, but i dont have the money to front for 50 vest patches.

Does anyone else have any ideas on this? has anyone priced a 10" patch in there area? Someone might find a cheeper place.

I too also think a 4" patch would be nice for jacket sleeves or something. just thoughts though.

I talked with a guy at Bayou Thunder Sunday that will do 1 or 100 patches. He had a machine at the site, and seemed to do really good work. He showed us a patch that his wife did for some one that really looked nice.

Guys,
Square patches are kind'a funky; :? you know, straight looking. How about round patches, with the Louisiana curved on the top and the Riders curved around the bottom. If the patches were vertically oval, on the sides you could put locations, like New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, Mandeville, or any other place you're proud of being from.
CoonAss :D

CoonAss
03-30-2004, 10:36 AM
Also,
The shading on the lettering looks good in pictures, but not on a real patch. It needs to be a single color stiching, or it just looks dirty.

Gumbo
03-30-2004, 12:16 PM
I agree with CoonAss. Oval is the way to go. Fr8Hauler...call me later and lets discuss this...when you get up of course. If you don't have my mobile, PM me.

Hey guys i'm not an X rider (YET), but I might be able to help out with the patches. I've got a friend that has his own home shop and does all types of embroidry. TASSY5 should have asked me earlier, since WE ride together all the time. I guess he was afraid to ask since I ride a MAGNA!! But at least it's a HONDA. I'll check into it and let TASSY5 know. :a13:

Hey guys, I heard from my friend about the patches today. If he was doing embroidery he could do it by piece. For patches he has to order it out and so far it's 100 patch min. He said he is still checking around for us and will get back to me. The average cost per patch (large for back of jackets/vests) is between $20 to $25 each. Maybe we can start a signup form to see if we can meet the 100 patch start up min. Still open to ideas, let me know. :a13:

1. OK guys! I've got more info on the patches, but first I need to know if ya'll want "Square, Oval or Round"??

2. Now for the fun part! We can order a min. of 50 @ $24.00 each, or 100 @ $21.00. These prices are for a large patch. After I know what shape the majority of ya'll want, I'll try to get a sample patch and post it.

3. If you like the idea and you think the price is fair, pm me with the quanity you want and I'll start a list to see if we can make it to 50 or 100 patches. After I get this info I'll try to get an idea on the turnaround time on the orders. Thanx guys!! :a13:

I'll take 2 <<<<<<<<<<< :D 1 for a Leather vest and 1 for possibly my Jacket..regaurdless, I'm in for 2.. Now, lets see a sample..

Also maybe we can all consider some screen printed shirts with the same logo on the back and maybe the VTX Mask 0n the front.
BUT in all fairness to those that do ride with us, that aren't VTX owners. We should consider some alternative shirt Logo on the Front for them to wear so the don't feel out of place. I say maybe ( RHSC in Training ) LOL- LOL-ha--    Just kidding. Serious though, maybe a universal Logo on the front of the shirts if we all even agree to shirts as another idea to go along with the vests...If i am not mistaken the shirts Idea might not be extremely expensive... my 2 cents..

Psycho, you are doing good work and have my "blessing" as I am sure you will succeed in getting the plans in order. What I am not sure is that there are 50 orders coming. We have roughly 27 people occasionally viewing this board. In order to get 50, most all of these will have to order 2 patches. Really, I don't intend to sound pessimistic but the VRCC in Louisiana has 400 plus members and I worked with getting a t-shirt for over a year. Ended up selling about a hundred but I bought 8 myself.
What I guess I am saying is this will take time to acheive. We definitely need to hear from everyone about what they want and what they will COMMIT to purchasing. I'd hate to see you or anyone hung out on this.
So, guys!!!!! What do you want and when?

Psych-O
04-27-2004, 10:33 PM
Jack I hear where you're coming from and that's also why I need the input, so I nor the Embroider get stuck with a failed order. I also think that once We start wearing the patches, alot of guys will see them and want one. I believe alot of the X owners are very proud of their bikes and would want one or two. I'm willing to do what it takes to help everyone out, but I need an accurate order list before we can move forword on this. :a13:

Is the patch round, oval, or square, how much ($'s), and what are the dimensions? I'll take one no mater :) what, but I would prefer a round 6" patch that will fit between the wings of the big eagle and American Flag on the back of my vest, and beneath the New Orleans Chapter chevron at the top of the back of my vest. Psych-O,
I'd like a 6" to 7" round patch (could live with 6" x 8" oval) of the flaming "X," with Louisiana around the top and Riders around the bottom. I'm willing to pay $25.00 per patch, if that's what it takes.

Also, would like a 3" round for the front of my vest or jacket.
Check out http://www.threadsinternational.com/index.htm :D I like the look.

All:
Maybe somthing like this, maybe not. I like the "rocker" name at the bottom and the "chapter chevron" look at the top. The Eagle is optional.

As long as location is not in a bottom rocker and MC is not on the back, we should be OK with the 1% ers.

Hey folks. I just signed up here and in the club. Count me in for 2 patches.

I"ve got a few friends with the 1300 and am waiting to hear if they are interested.

Don't know if this is a dead issue since it's not talked about much recently. I'm game for a couple. Only want one for my vest, but I'll find a use for the other. Let me know. If it ever stops raining maybe I'll see some of you at the Pit on Wednesday and we'll talk more about it.

I got the digitizing priced for a Back Patch and it will cost $250 dollars for the digitizing. Then either it can be stitched on vests or jackets directly, or put on to patches themselves that you can have stitched on to what ever you want. If this sounds good let me know. I figure if every one wants to chip in on the digitizing we can do it...IF NOT I can pay for the digitizing and sell the patches to all interested. But i don't have prices yet and won't until i pay for the digitizing and base it on patches or direct embroidery on the vests/jackets themselves :vtx18:

Here is somthing that I wipped up. One is traditional the other is modern.

Being a graphic artist by trade, let me tell you that just because it looks good on the screen, does not mean it will transfer easily (inexpensivley) to a Patch or a T-Shirt.
Just an FYI.

Dawg, :)
Could the banner ends come toward the center line instead of away from the center? You know, so you could have a rocker underneath and a chapter chevron on the top? That would give it an allover rounder shape. Just asking.
I like the Eagle. Could it be in color? :?:

I just threw it together as a rough draft, but I could make it any way you want it. Just gimme a couple hours to make a new draft before I start adding color.
