I have attempted to write this post several times but could not find the right words, but here goes anyway…First of all, my deepest sympathies go out to the families of Scott and Kerry. Secondly, my most sincerest apologies for not being able to make the services last night.
While I only knew Scott and Kerry since August 2004, they made me feel like we’ve been friends for years. Being a new rider and member of the WIVO’s, Scott (and others) took time to help me learn to not only be a better rider but to appreciate the close friendships that are forged in the VTX family.
I will never forget the first time I met Scott and Kerry. Before I knew about Doyle’s and the WVIO’s, I stopped into Doyle’s on my first ride to Richmond to visit Kelly’s Leathers. Scott and Kerry as well as Tomzak were out on the deck. Scott invited me to sit down and have a beverage and also invited me to ride with them to a benefit ride they were going on that afternoon. (Scott also gave me one of the infamous ‘WIVO’ cards and told me to sign up!) I remember thinking to myself what a genuine, friendly person this guy is.
That initial meeting of Scott and Kerry was the first thing I thought of when I read the terrible, tragic post about the accident. I can not recall a time when I did not see them together nor can I recall a time when they were not having a good time and trying to make sure everyone else was having a good time also.
I looked though some old posts last night since I was unable to attend the services and found this one that I think shows what a truly great person Scott was:

I can not remember the last time I have had as much fun as this year was riding with a great bunch of guy's and gal's. We rode, we saw a beautiful summer. I want to THANK everone that I met this year, WIVO's
we all need to be proud of a great group we have made for ourselves. I can only hope and pray that we are all here to see another awsome year in 2005. To WIVO'S and the other VTXer's thanks for making this an AWSOME year of riding and making new freinds.
