I know this is early , but my daughter is really worried that the Ramada in Fort Walton may not be open in time for our vacation July 22. I was just wondering if anyone was able to take a ride on the beach since Denis. I'm just looking for a guess. I will call the office next week and find out for sure .
Also, any recommendations for a good restraunt? Sit down steak for me and maybe a seafood for the kids.

Not sure about the Ramada. I haven't heard any word about damage down there.
As far as places to eat...... There are plenty. For steak, I love Longhorns Steakhouse in Destin. For seafood and fun, I recommend Joe's Crabtrap. It's always fun there and the food is great. Of course there is always, Red Lobster.

Sorry it took so long for me to get a "Thank You"back. I was out of town for the week and just got my turn on the computer(kids!). Thanks for the info , I called Ramada yesterday ,they said damage was small and they would be in operation for the weekend. Damage to the beach side bar, some water damage to bottom floor rooms, and the kiddie pool is what I thought they said. It looks as though I'll be heading that way Saturday, following my wife in on my scoot. A quick little trip ,I've got to be back Sunday night.

I would have loved to get up with a few of you Florida boys and lay down some miles. It just so happens that the man who signs the check decided I would have more fun at work this weekend :(. We had a few little personel problems this week that led to a firing. We are now short a few people and guess what that means. Oh Well ,wife and kids will have a good time and I will be able to pay for it all !!!! I'll keep my eye on this forum , maybe it'll wok out again someday.
