Kewl, thanks! And thanks to Brad for inviting me.
I got my bike just about 2 months ago, 02 Blue Retro, went overseas for the whole month of January (Philippines, wife is from there), and the only thing I missed here was my bike. (so sorry I missed the snow and ice cuz I probably WOULD have tried to ride) Second we got back the wife told me "it's starting to rain" and I said "then I am going RIGHT NOW"
Last spring I had a Suzu 500 I had had for about 3 years, decided I wanted to move up. Went and tried a Shadow 800, then a Shadow 1100 (almost bought it, glad I waited), and ended up buying an Intruder 1400, thinking it was too much power for me. In about 3 months I realized it wasn't, and got bored with it, started the search again. Always for some reason thought Honda's were kinda dorky or something. Until I tried a Valk in my quest, which I loved the ride but didn't like the look of it, so I rode Harley (at the insistence of my HD fiends, or do I mean friends, still NOT impressed), Indian (26K), Yamaha, Suzu 1500, X1300. Then the VTX C 1800, and fell in love. Shopped for a couple months (no hurry, winter be coming) and finally got mine at Beaverton when they got 31 of them in, for 10,400 with 0 miles. My HD friend brought it home for me in back of a pickup with it pouring down rain. NERVOUS first ride, W-E-T. Damn I am glad I did my due diligence, cuz this bike is freaking exciting for me. I just now need to learn to quit romping b4 I get another ticket, but it feels so friggin good to open that throttle.
I own a flower shop in Corvallis (not a florist, my wife does that) hence the handle bloomz. Friends call me the Flower Pimp cuz I facilitate getting dudes laid. Ah, it's a noble calling.
Anyhow, thanks for the warm welcome and I will be watching this board for rides. Would be great to get in and get to know some people of extraordinary motorcycle taste like myself. Oh yeah, no spring chicken, 56, but I must be going thru my second or fourth childhood, cuz this bike injects new life into mine! Gawd, yesterday and today were TOO nice down here in Corntown, and I wanted somewhere to go (well who cares about the destination?) So I just "rode around".
Looking forward to something...thanks again!
Jonathon
