Lets be thinking about how we'd like to distribute the Patches when we get to that point. Sending the pins is one thing, but I feel that the patches are alot more meaningfull. After all, we are a pretty tight group.

Maybe some kinda dumb little ceramony, or initiation or something. They definately need to be given in person. Maybe we could set up 2 separate "patch runs" long ones so we know that the patch wearer can go the oregonxer distance. Or feel free to chime in and say "thats stupid just hand out the Patches already" could be possible as well

Just some thoughts Buds

Sounds good to me Brad. Maybe we could try that Aberdeen Washington ride that we got so close to. Right Arch........Warden

I think that it would be fun if we have someone that has a place, or even a park, where we could do like a BBQ after a medium ride, to kick back and relax and pass out the patches. Maybe a couple of us could bring BBQ grills in a pickup somewhere.
Just a thought

You know Manwhor, ya did it again! Thats one hell of a thought... I guess we need to be Xriders of Oregon to earn a patch but what defines our group? Suzuki Steve is certinly a member, so it's not exactly the VTX that makes you an oregonXer. We'll have to contiplate this. As for iniation? I can't really bend over in front of Arch with a pattle. "Thank you sir may I have another." ttiissshhh painnnnnnnn! NO *^%$@ WAY! I've only had one iniation in my life... I was on my high school swim team. First year, as a sophmore all the new guys were iniaciated in one way or another. Usually whipped with wet-ended towles in the shower. Well I'm not some tough guy but when I seen a fue TRULY brutal whippings, I figured I had nothing to loose. So I went into the shower and informed my older team mates that anyone that flicked me with a towel, I was going to administer facial fractures and then bite off the end of their nose so they would allways remember the day they F$#ked with me! I didn't say it so indirectly at the time! Well I guess I buffaloed those guys because, every day I waited for somthing to happen, I was the last guy to have it comming so any time now..... Well, a couple of weeks passed and nothing happened! Man I was feeling pretty good! I really did not want to get whipped. AND I GOT OUT OF IT!!!! WHO HOOOO! Plus the big guys were being real nice to me too! :D Then it happened....... We had lockers that were made of mesh on the outside. Kind of like thick chicken wire. I came up to my locker after practice and found that someone had squirted tooth paste on my jeans. I thought ha! This the best ya got? PUSSYS!! Well, I put on my pants after wiping off as much tooth paste as I could, and started my 2 mile walk home. I got about 3 blocks away from the school and found that the residue tooth paste was starting to burn! Believe it or not, by the time I got home I had some pretty knarly burns on the inside of my legs! They got me GOOD! :x I tried to find out who did it but never did. :rat: Thats probally a good thing. But I was glad I knew it was finally over. Thats my iniation story. First and last! Later Bros....Sundance :x

Everyone has to buy their own patch, their own X and ride to someplace to pick up their patch. We are not a "motorcycle club" we are a "riding group". Just hand out the patches as they show up. Let's not make more of this than it is.

Well I would have to agree with Bob on this one, Lets just get together for a ride and pass them out. The whole barbeque idea sounds good as well. Way to go Tim. And thanks for the shout out Sundance.

I'm in agreement with Bob and SS as far as just handing them out.

Sparky's idea for a ride and barbque sure sounds good and something we should plan for later this summer.

What's the rest of the group think about the ideas Brad proposed?
So far I'm only hearing from three or four of us. I'm willing to be persuaded.

Hey Brad can you put a poll together?

Sundance's thought about riding an X to get the patch is a good one.

Here's my take, from the start we've said anyone can ride with this group regardless of their bike. So if they want to buy and wear a patch I say the more power to them! If they don't have an X underneath them they may as well have one on their back!

Like Bob said this a riding group not a mc club! :mcrider:

Ok already jeese. I agree, after re reading my post a day after it was posted, it does seem a bit over-enthusiastic  But hell, I've never belonged to somrething that required a patch.

I think a simple ceramony would work. I can see Arch in a robe, kissing each xer on the forehead then each cheek. Making those repeated cross symbols with his hand mumbling this and that then handing the Xers his patch. What about that guys, is that acceptable?

You know I agree with Bob this is a riding group and not a motorcycl club we should keep it simple, and Sparky als I like the idea about a barbque were we all can meet up and bring the families together. Our group lets anyone ride along regardless as to make and model, and if they want a oregonxrider patch so be it. Thats what makes our group so grand.

Another Patch Idea.

We can have Pi dress up in a belly dancing out fit. We can apply double sided carpet tape to the backside of each of the patches and apply them all to her. Then as she sways and grooves to the belly dancing music, we can one at a time walk up and remove the patch of our choice.
Whataya say Pi? It's for the club :D

Hola,
New and not so new here. Was on a long time ago by the name of El Rojo but it seems things and I change. Anyway hello to you all!
I ride all the time here in the jackson, State of Jefferson, county area and have only run into a couple Cal. riders and one other local x rider. Hope that changes!
I ride a 2002 red, pretty much stock except for the crash dents I put in it, wind screen, HWY pegs,MY own hand made (very small) saddle bags and tool pouch and the crome tail piece rather than buddy seat.
But you can usually spot my "Pecker Head " helmet and leather coat with another version on it.
Anyway hope to see some, if not all, of you on the road!
