View Full Version : Those Damn Beach Bars
Well I love the bars but I screwed up. When I put the clamps on the bars to hold the wiring I didn't check well enough and I put a nice little "ding" in my tank. you can barly see it but I know it's there.
Question, does anyone know of someplace local that might be able to pop it out?

Yeah man, I see it on TV all the time. I think it's 19.99 plust $20 S&H.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Next time we get together (on 27 for a little haulass pipe comparison  ), I'd be interested in your opinion on whether I can get the dent I put in my tank popped out.

I've read on here about folks leaving the tank/bike out in the sun to get good and warm, then putting dry ice on the dent. Havent tried it so dont know for sure. If you have already, try some searches, hopefully you'll come up with something that works!
Good luck.

If the paint is not broken, any "Dent Wizard" guy can fix it. If the paint is marred, the only real alternative is the body shop. You will need to find a shop with a name like "Juan's T-Tops", if you want it done right.

I used Dent Wizard on my truck a few years ago and when they were done you could not tell there was a dent. I have tried that seen on TV thing on the minivan the Nanny drives(she has managed to put a dent in every panel), thay sell it at Wal-Mart. It works ok but I have not been able to get it perfect. I'll be going to Dent Wizard this week to see if thay can get the dent from my fall out of my tank. I'll let you know.
The trick w/Dent Wizard guys, is to get a good one. My wife closed the electric garage door on the trunk lid of a 3 day old Lexus LS430. Right on the lip along the edge. I looked at it and said to myself........ "F**k"
She called a dent doctor, he came to her office the next day, and fixed it perfectly in the parking lot for $75. Can't tell where the dent was. :D
So of course, being the a**shole that I am, I took the LS away from her (it barely fits in the garage), and bought her a SC430 (the little convertible)
That'l teach her! :) :) :) :) :)

Hello HulkRider,
Been busy the past several weeks and haven't stopped by Bonefish. Will be there next Wed night for sure. There's also a bike night at Applebee's on North Lake Bldv on Tue night. Saw a post here a few days ago, and I intended to meet some VTX riders that night, but weather was bad.
I'm sure we'll run into each other again.
Later,
