A bike with a single pin crank is going to develop "noises" but my wife can't figure out why I can't find them all and fix them ALL. With me having a Valk, I'm kinda outta shape fixing these things or explaining them to her.

I found all the rattles and squeeks(I think) and have them all ok for now except the rattle coming from the exhaust pipe cover off the rear jug. Any suggestions other than replacing the stock pipes??

Jack, I would be happy to help, I have a 1300 S (R). I had to do a few things to mine. Liked to drove me nuts... Though their are the ones that say I have already reached that point.
I work at night, Just hit me with some times, and lets see what we can decide. What, if any, accessories have you added to the bike?

Jack,

I would be happy to come on over. Is it a valve thang, or something else?

Give me a shout.

I'll be off Friday and Sunday if someone or everyone would like to come over. I live in Destrehan and it isn't hard to find my house. You turn off Ormond Blvd at Stanton Hall and stay on that street until you cross a canal bridge, then turn left on Oakley Drive. Stay on that street all the way to the end. My house is right across from the intersection.
I haven't added any thing except a shield and pegs and grips. I don't think they are the problem. My wife said she thinks its "pinging" so the valves may need adjusting. Other than that, its just noises , squeeks, etc. I found a site off the main board that had some cures but would appreciate some help.

Run a tank of 89 octane in the bike instead of 87 and see if it makes a difference. Best I can offer without seeing it. :D
If you get together gimme a call! I PM'd you my number last week.

Well, it is making a squeek in the Speedo housing. I'll take it off and put rubber o-rings on and see if that helps. Also, tightened the radiator housing and checked the headlight housing. The headlight housing must be an improvement over the '03 VTX because it is tight. I rode it today and don't hear a "ping" as my wife described. I feel confident her ping was a squeek. I also had her ride behind me so sshe could tell me when she heard the noises.
Appreciate the help from you guys and the phone call from Gumbo today.
