Florida VTX Rally 10/01/05 Sebring, FL www.flxriders.com

I'm excited to announce that I have initiated plans for the 1st Florida VTX rally to be held in Sebring, FL on October 1, 2005 in conjunction with Sebring's 2nd annual "Run to the Heartland”.

In order to disseminate information for the rally I have constructed a Florida VTX web site www.flxriders.com (http://www.flxriders.com). The web site also has a few other pages including a member’s page that will run in sync with Wilbur Redmond's (KingCobra) www.VTXriders.com (http://www.VTXriders.com).

My intention is to provide information and organize a statewide ride, nothing more. My belief is that the coordinators representing Florida's five chapters should continue to handle the business of their areas. I am not trying to supersede anyone’s authority or position.

Every one should know that although I have consulted with a number of VTXers up to this point, I have designed the web page and set the location and the date for the rally acting as a committee of one.

Here's to hoping everyone regardless of location jumps on board and makes this simple event something we can build on for the future. We currently have 370 VTX riders signed up in the state about 330 of which I have never met. I have felt for some time that we need a stronger state identity and believe that a statewide ride is the best way to start.

So check out the rally page on the site and email me from there with any questions or comments you may have. If you know riders that don't use a computer or don't frequent the VTXOA forums let them know as well.

Some of these I was able to correct, most were still unusable as of this morning so they have been deleted from the membership list and the email list. Sorry, but it just doesn’t make sense to maintain information on an Internet members list for folks that you cannot contact on the Internet. If anyone is offended, I’m sorry. If you need to be reinstated so that you receive emails, go to the web site www.flxriders.com (http://www.flxriders.com), and fill out the Sign Up page and you will be added back in ASAP.

On a lighter note, new names are being added to the members list daily, and as of this morning I have 30 bikes and 45 people on the confirmed list for the rally. I strongly suspect that number will continue to grow, especially as the event gets closer.

Hal Greenlee our forum sponsor and owner of Honda Direct Line has also indicated he will contact me regarding making our dinner at The Blue Crab a tad more interesting with a raffle of …….you guessed it VTX stuff. Details TBA
