My dad, brother and I went on a decent ride two days ago. We left at 2:30pm from my home town of Rupert and headed off towards Sun Valley. The ride up to Sun Valley was okay and I have ridden it a ton of times. Plus there was so much traffic it almost made you sick. But as soon as we got into Sun Valley the sites changed for the better. Lots to look at walking on the sidewalks if you know what I mean.

We stopped there for just a moment and then headed up Galena Summit. I have never been up the summit on my bike and had wanted to for a long time. Well worth the trip. The view was awesome and there was plenty of turns to keep things interesting.

We kept on going up to Stanley and stopped to eat at a local resturant on the River. Can't remember the name of the place for the life of me but they had really good burgers and a band. The atmosphere was very enjoyable not to mention you were sitting on a balcony over the river. I did see one thing that frightened me though. There was a lady in a bikini top that had atleast 2 inch armpit hair. I about threw up my 1/2 pound cheese burger!

After we got done eating our burgers we started on our way to Challis. Following the curving highway along the Salmon River. We passed a ton of wildlife that was walking along the river bed looking for a cool drink of water. We stopped at the old Sunbeam mine and many other places.

We got gas at Challis and started to make our way back home. Going towards Arco and thru the desert.
My dad almost hit a deer and we were very lucky he didn't. He missed it by maybe six inches as it darted out in front of him on a dark two lane country road.
I desert was nice to ride through on the way home because of the warm air and close to zero traffic.

We ended up arriving at home around 12:30 in the morning and traveled around 450 miles. All in all it was a nice trip and I would suggest the ride to others.

The best parts were Galena Summit, Stanley and the Salmon River and then the night ride through the desert.
