Hi all,

Just registered on the site. I've had my VTX for about a year. I mostly use it as my 2 up bike. I have a Triumph that I ride solo. Looks like a few Rhode Islanders are represented here. I'm in Cranston. I usually head to Vermont or western Mass for the good roads. Summer is quickly slipping away.If anyone is heading north or west some Saturday or Sunday let me know.

Welcome aboard, Phil. This is not what you'd consider one of your more active boards, but we do occasionally shout out to each other. Check in now and then and we'll see if we can't get a good ride cooking in the near future.

Good to hear from you, and ride safe ...

The Mass X Riders are a great group to jump in for those nice rides west, north, east or south.. usually there is a pretty good size group of riders www.massxriders.com (http://www.massxriders.com), on some of the rides they will have a RI stop to pick up RI riders. Just got back tonight from a CT ride and had a good time with everyone.. including the RI guys I met up with on the ride

welcome. this year this forum has been slow, and yes i'm guilty of it with the wacky hours i work. i did take off last night and went riding to western CT (around Danbury) with a group from another site. maybe if enough interested from around here i'll take off another night before season's end to get back together with folks i met last year from here.

Check out this ride Phil:

NH, VT, Upstate NY, and Western MA are where I usually head on a Saturday as well. 700 mile days are pretty common for me.
Met up with Cousin Eddie yesterday on the Mass. ride. I was kind of surprised to see another Rhode Islander....if you count Bristol as part of RI

If anyone wants to head to the Sept. 3rd ride let me know and we can hook up for the ride to CT. 8)

MT Greylock is a nice ride but I'll be leaving for the Blue Ridge Parkway on the 3rd. My wife and I are hoping to ride the Parkway from the beginning in Virginia to the end in North Carolina. Something like 460 miles. I was hoping to get to Deals Gap but not on this trip. I took 2 extra days off for the long weekend to do this ride. Hope the weather is good. If our plans change I'll tag along on the Greylock ride.
Thanks for the info

Sounds good, anyone from the East Bay area looking to get together for the ride over to Johnston and then on to meet for GreylockI can set up a point over on this end also. I will plan to meet in Johnston for 7:00 - 7:15 which would have me leave this area around 6:30.

Rich,

It has been a while since we got together for a ride, I will see if I can make it for the 3rd. to go to Mt. Greylock.

I'll have to take the Goldwing since I sold the VTX last week, but I'm sure a Goldwing mixed in with the X's will be alright.

Sure....ride what you got - we're not picky 8)
There are Yammies - HD and Honda ST's that have ridden with the CT riders. As long as its got three wheels or less......

Rich,

It is actually dtoolman99's fault that I went and bought a Goldwing. That night last summer when we went for one of the weeknight rides and we stopped at Brickley's in Narragansett for Ice Cream.

I saw his Hoppe fairing with those tunes playing away and knew I had to have something like that, so instead of just buying the fairing with the radio I bought a bike with a radio attached.
