Yea Gary, according to the weather channel Saturday looks pretty good. But who the hell can count on forcasts?? Look what happened this last weekend. Sunday ended up being nicer than Saturday when the forcast was for rain on Sunday. Anyway, I can ride either day, Sat. or Sun. Whatever the group wants to do.

Saturday is best for me, Sunday I need to get ready for my trip to England, but if more folks want to go Sunday I can make it out for a few hours. Either way I cannot be go all day as this has been the only weekend I have been home in quite some time so I have a few chores to do.

K-mart parking lot at 9AM and we will wind our way to HWY 20 and get on HWY 229 and head north and then work our way back towards Salem.

Yes the K-mart on Mission in Salem and 9am is not early. Hell half the day is gone.

The Route: Kings Valley HWY to HWY 20 to HWY180 the back on HWY 20 to HWY 229 to HWY 101 to HWY 18 to HWY22. It is about a 165 loop from Salem.

The weather forcast is looking good.

The weather is suppose to be in the high 70's they say closer to the 80 mark. sounds like a good route Gary. I will be there, what time you pullin out of D town I will hook up with ya along the Hiway if you want.

Gee Warden, high in the 80s on Saturday???? you must have been checking Weather Wishful Thinking rather than Weather Underground....
Latest forecast says high of about 63, and there might be some sun in there.

Hey Gary have you thought about where to fit in a meal stop? It looks like the whole route is beautiful back country, but no place to eat.

Maybe alter the route to come thru Corvallis and stop at Tommy's on 4th Street. (of course, we'd love this idea as it means we can sleep in....that's what you call enlightened self interest). Bob O might want to meet there too.

Just at thought.

Just thought I'd mention this. I was just told that this is the first weekend of spring break in Oregon. Is it a good idea to try and ride anywhere on the coast this weekend?

I'm about 50/50 about being able to join this ride and if I can go I will certainly do what the group wants. I'm just thinking it may be better to do a ride east, maybe the Columbia River hwy to Bridge of the God's and over to the WA side?

We will be having breakfast in Independence around 9:30.

As far changing the route, I like the route I planned. I am not worried about spring break traffic we will be off the main roads for the most part.

Do not remeber the name but it is the only cafe on Main st., if you are heading north it is on the right side of the road before the park.

We should be there around 9:30

I, as usual, am riding down from Portland. If anybody else from this area wants to ride down together I can meet you at the Wilsonville Rest Stop on I-5 at 8:15 a.m. If I don't hear back from anyone I will not stop there.

As it stands now I plan on going. If not, I'll be certain to post a message. So, I will do my best to time my arrival at the rest stop at 8:15 (I'll be leaving my house about 7:30). That would be the rest stop just past Charbonneau and Langdon Farms, right?

It looks like I will be able to make today's ride! My wife has shown an interest in going. Also, I think my Brother from Hillsboro will be showing up (with a Red 2003 1300 retro - like Warden's).

I just checked the temp and it reads 34 degrees!!! Yikes!

Not to complain or anything, but your "avatar" is too big which causes all the text to the right to be all scrunched up.

2 suggestions

you can crop the pic way down to look small like all the other avatars (which would be a shame as it's a great pic of you 2)

or you can move the pic just like it is over to the "signature section" of your profile. Just remember the signature section requires a
%20at%20the%20begining%20and%20a%20 at the end (no spaces)
