Ok, I know this isn't very important but I've been in Wisconsin two weeks now and no one waves. I even pulled up next to a Brookfield cop this afternoon, waved and said hello through his open window. He looked at me, looked the bike over and drove off without saying a word.
In Maine some of the HD and even the sport bike guys would wave. Nothing against Wisconsin, I love it here but is there a secret I don't know about?

I would say.....Dont give up and keep wavin! Most cruisers+tourers
wave. Alot of sport-bikes dont. They seem to have thier own "click" kinda. Greet everyone with a wave and you have a good chance of gettin
one in return. If they dont.....It didnt cost Ya a dime, too bad for them!
I think some riders just wont take thier hands off the grips!

Monster hit it right. Most have been waving, in my expireance its the HDs that usualy dont wave, and I work with guys that ride sport bikes, and they said the cruisers never wave to them so they just stoped waving. When I wave to a sport bike they look suprised, and to tell you the truth, some of us honda guys have been giving th HDs so much crap, alot of them seem suprised to see me wave to them. So anyway I wave to them all, and if they dont wave back oh well. One other note there are a few biker groups around here, like the High Riders, and The Milwaukee Outlaws, and they dont seem to wave to anyone but there own, and thats ok to. Just look wave , and know you did the right thing, it dont matter what they do. If the cops think your one of them groups, they will just think your being a smart a$$.

I'd say that I get a 99.2% waveback. Some guys just lift their fingers from the grips....hey, it counts :D :D :D :D
I wave to everyone....don't give a ***** what they ride........

kenosha has tw cops, the city, county, and i think the state even has a bike or two, on occasion while riding i would see one and wave, sometimes they would respond other times they wouldn't. so if you ride ride with a smile on your face and enjoy life, when you do, you will make someone else smile, welcome to the family, you have entered into one the nicest groups of people you will ever meet, ride safe, ride long-----------------ace

When I had a sportbike I only waved at other sportbikes, unless the other rider waves first, or I could see in advance that the other bike was an import. I used to wave to all but rarely, if ever, got a wave in return from most HD riders, and some of those were the "I'm #1" unfriendly type.
Now that I have a VTX I try to wave to all, most HD guys don't know that I'm riding an import until they already have waved but then its too late (suckers  ).

What are you riding for a X? 1300? 1800? color? I have been seeing a silver X around here with a shield, and I have been seeing a 1300 red x, and a 1800 redx with shield.

Thanks guys, I'll continue to wave. Late yesterday I did get a smile from a 7 year-old on a motorized skateboard when I waved to him so things are starting to look up.
Ride safe.

Nope I'm none of those, added my bike's info to my signature. I picked mine up in town about a month ago. Of course since then Murphy's Law took affect and I've had to work every weekend since I bought it. :x
Hope to get some decent miles on it this weekend tho.

Mount a block of cheese to your tank. Wear a cheddar head. Then they will know you are one of "DEM DAR, BOYZ FROM YA HAY DAR LAND" :D
Keep waving, it speaks volumes about who you are.

I waved at everyone I saw yesterday, even a guy on a trail bike.
Don't know if it's good or bad, people are starting to recognize me on the X. Had a stranger on Sunday say "Didn't I see you on the beltline on Fri. about 2?" Yes, he probably saw me, I'd been at dealers ordering my new lightbar. Guess I'm the only orange X in town (no, it's not my driving!)

On the way into work this morning, I got my first return wave. However, I question the guy's intelligence. He was wearing shorts, no shirt, no helmet and had on flip-flops.

BTW, Memphis was awesome. Some great roads in West Kentucky and the boot heel of Missouri. The Arkansas delta was flat, flat, flat, felt like home if wasn't for all that cotton and rice.
Those Gateway X'ers have got some good ridin' in their back yard.
30 states and countin' :D
