Just got back, man what a great day to ride. It was even cold up on the Pkwy. Traffic was light, did see a few lone bikes. Great ride, sorry everyone missed it. :D

Beautiful day. Without planning, Karen and I jumped on the bike and scooted
over to Helen, GA. Came back through Clayton & Westminster. Like you
said Yoman, light traffic, but we saw lots of bikes.

I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!! Hope everyone had a good time. I got the fever BAD.
Had to work today, but wife and I mounted up Sunday morning around 10:30. We took 221 North to the Parkway, then North to Fancy Gap, Virginia. At a gas station right off the Parkway there in Fancy Gap, there must of been 100 motorcycles hanging out. From there, we took I-77 South to Charlotte, then I-85 South to home. Got home about 7:00. Saw 1, just 1, VTX the whole day.
Great ride, great day to ride. Had to fill up three times, though, at $3.29 per gallon each time. Expensive ride, but worth every penny.
Anyone else ever done this ride? Next time, we're taking the Interstates up to Fancy Gap, then going North on the Parkway from there. Like to see some different scenery. :)

Forgot one minor mishap. While filling up in Clayton, I looked away for a
moment, looked back and gas was spilling over into my lap. Well what a
dumb@ss I thought, and started wiping it up.
After about a minute, let the flames begin. You might as well lit a match and
throw it on my crotch. Man did that sting.
So I go to the restroom to find no towels, only one of those hot air hand
dryers. Went to the toilet stall and got some toilet paper to soak up some of
the extra gas from my jeans and underwear. Next I got some water from
the sink and tried to delute the gas a little.
Didn't help the sting much and looked like I pissed in my pants when I came out.
About ten miles down the road the boys cooled down.
Now Karen is calling me gassy pants. Make her stop!

This is why it's bad policy to fill up sitting on the bike. In a cooler, dryer time of year, you could have generated a static electricity spark when you got off the bike and you literally would have gone up in flames. :chef2:
On your way in or out of Clayton, did you ride the Warwoman Road? The last 3 miles of it are really nice. Here's a pic from that road:
