Not to put a damper on the abate runs,but.Our metric bikes would not cost so much if it were not for a protest to the goverment from abate.I know abate says all bikes welcome,but they would be much happier if you rode a harley.Well a while back,harley's bussiness of selling bikes was not so good.Abate complained that japan was flooding our market with bikes,and monopalizing on it.After so many complaints,the goverment decided to place a teriff on all import bikes.Anything over 700 cc's was taxed a certain amount.In turn,japan stopped sending so many cause it cost to much.That tax law is still in place.Otherwise your bike would be cheaper,cause the expense is passed on to the consummer.I know abate does some nice things,but they've done a few sneaky one's too.

I think dragonslayer would be surprised to hear that, he joined them some time ago?? I think we should boycott them and charge abate 1.00 when we go on any of there rides>>>>

As a member of Kent County Abate Chapter I can tell you that the good done by this organization far outweighs what you are referring to. Not saying the particular circumstance is right but most every organization does things that have a negative effect on a variety of things. As far as them wanting us to ride Harley's, I don't really care about that.
