I went up Wednesday the 14th but only for a daytrip...figured all the rooms were taken since I just found out about it Monday the 12th.

But it did have it's advantages going on a weekday rather than the weekend: Saw plenty of bikes but not TOO many bikes (crowds), expecially cruising Route 244 from Ruidoso to Cloudcroft.

Weather was sunny but the WINDS were a REAL PAIN that day...gusts 40-50 or more, and all the way back to El Paso. Windy weather like that isn't too much fun.
