All;
I've recently moved to Los Alamos, and I've been looking at the maps.
What are some good day rides around here? Something, maybe an hour or two out, and back? Some nice mountain roads, some twisties, without reaching tail of the dragon catagory?

I know that there are is a lot of good ridin' around here, but being new, you can hit a lot a bad roads before finding the good ones. ;)

Thanks in advance!

PS: I need to find a good scenic spot, and get a new shot of the X. That shot in Florida is getting old.

Hmm.. Does anyone read this forum? ;)

Anyway, I found answers to my own question.
There are several GREAT roads around here for day rides (and longer).

I ran this one today, from Los Alamos, to just short of Jemez Springs (pronounced Hemez Springs).

The scenery was spectacular! Most of that is on small, two lane mountain roads. Couldn't have asked for better riding.

On my list of rides to make, these look good:

I'll be a while exploring this area! :)

Hey VTX-RYDER, just keep watching this site and rides will appear. We are having the NMVTX riders lunch down by Socorro Oct 1st. Also there is the Ruidoso run this coming weekend.
Oh yeah and I will be putting a ride to the Enchanted Circle together, which is Taos, Red River , Angel Fire and back to Taos. You don't want to miss this ride.

Later ,Gary

Thanks man!

I've been seeing some rides posted up here. Getting away for a long ride is usually difficult.
But that enchanted circle ride sounds good. I'll watch for more info on that one.
