Hello all, I have been reading posts from your site (mostly the tech forum doing research on the VTX 1800 prior to purchasing one) I must admit that you guys sold me! There are a lot of very smart people here. Most of all I didnt read much bickering or slamming each other. So I decided to register. I purchased a new leftover 2003 X 1800 C. And man, you guys were right. I cant get the smile off my face! I'm looking forward to riding in the mountains in North Ga. I'll keep surfing this site to find out where you guys meet to ride. Thanks for providing such a great site for the X!

Welcome to the VTX world Jacobs :D There are a lot of helpful people on this web site. I have been only riding for four months and I find myself always checking here for advice and ideas. Be careful on them mountains, I went over the one to Helen last Saturday and scraped my floorboards 7 times. That was the first time I rode on such a road, it was a learning experience for sure. Ride safe fellow VTX brother and enjoy your new ride. I know I do.

Welcome. :D

I'm probably closest to you......in the Midway area, between Cumming and Alpharetta. We'll have to get together for a brew sometime.....maybe at Montanna's.

It's nice to be close to the N. Ga mountains. :D

Montanna's on Hwy 9? I have played poker there a couple of times and have gone there for all you can eat crab legs on Friday. I'm always up for a cold one! Let me know when, I'm just around the corner. Jacobs

Jacobs,

Welcome! I'm a little further away than Mark, but I get thru your area occasionally (like Sunday evening returning from the Dragon). Riding here will be different than Orlando. Little colder, worse traffic, better riding in the mountains. But overall, I think you'll like it.

All,, Thanks for the welcomes! Scarecrow, just post when you will be around. I just got my bike and want to ride any chance I get. So far, I have only ridden by myself. I dont know anyone with a bike to ride with. Also, I really dont know the area too well. I do know I dont want to go south! LOL That ATL traffic dont seem like it would be too relaxing on a bike!

Jacobs,

I make a weekly trek between my aparement in Conyers and my house in East Tennessee. It will be a regular trip until at least next August (or unless I can buy a house in Atlanta sooner). Usually I go up I-85 to I-985 to US23 and across I-40 on Fridays. Pretty dull, especially sitting still on I-85 in rush hour traffic.

But returning on Sunday is a different story. I've done US 129 (Dragon), the Skyway, US 441. All are great rides. So I could meet you on Sunday PM in the mountains and ride then. In fact, I came down GA 400 through Alpharetta last night returning.

So we'll keep in touch.

Welcome Jacobs - I am in Alpharetta too. Ride north frequently (anywhere the traffic is not). Give me a shout if you get free. Ride safe!

Again All, Thanks for the welcomes! It looks like I am going meet and ride with a few of you. This coming weekend I'm heading to Orlando and the following weekend I'm enrolled in the Honda MSF riding course here in Alpharetta. After that, I am a free all the time. I'm always up for an evening ride if you know where we can go without bumper to bumper traffic! lol
