"Iron Butt Members" (1000 miles in 24 hours).....
Here is an easy one...
One long day, some Saturday in October... (15th)

Lots of scenery...

Looks like its going to be the Myrtle Beach/Savannah/Atlanta route...

We ran the "Gone With The Wind"
Start and finish were the same place...
Lincoln, Alabama
QV fuel stop, (north side of exit)
Exit 168 Interstate I-20 (in Alabama)
1 am Saturday October 15
We head east to Atlanta on I-20,
Go straight thru and fuel up on other side,
3am is a good time to see Atlanta,
Pass thru Augusta,
With a regrouping at South Carolina Welcome Center,
On to Columbia and Florence, sun is now coming up,
If we are making good time...
A short run north on I-95 to...
'South of the Border' a classic tourist trap, and photo op,
Hop on Hwy 9 heading for the coast,
Continue on to North Myrtle Beach looking for Hwy 17,
Then ride south along coast to Charleston,
A little cruse around old downtown, maybe lunch,
Continue onto Savannah,
Just before 17 ties in to I-95 we branch off onto Hwy 170,
Down to Hwy 278 that will take us out to Hilton Head Island,
Turn back to Alt 17 and into Savannah,
Pass thru on our way to Tybee Island on Hwy 80,
Back to Savannah for some history and old town Oglethorping,
Sunset and supper on River street,
Then back west to Atlanta thru Macon and then home to Lincoln.

2 VTXs
1 V-Rod
1 Yamaha sport touring (I can't remeber the model)

Klattu,

Just a word of advice, SC HWY Patrol is back on the warpath with one of their "let's see how much revenue we can generate in a ticket writing frenzy" campaigns again, and have announced that HWY 17, between Myrtle Beach and Charleston is one of their major targets. Keep it in mind when you pass through.

On Oct 7, decent weather permitting, we're leaving Charleston, and doing Charllotte, Atlanta, Jacksonville, back to Charleston for our 1000/24hr.

Good luck and a safe journey for all.

Pete

That is a new area for us and we would not know.
Luckly that is our cruse speed zone of the trip (site seeing)

You picked a great day for weather.
Hope it holds out for us.
