Gary,
I would love to go, I was planning a 2 day get away before the dreaded oil leak. The bike goes in Friday and they might have to remove the motor to get to the rear cylinder to fix the leak. They were talking 7-10 days to fix, due to part ordering. If they turn it around quickly then I would love to go. I will keep you posted. They told me everything should be covered under the extended warrenty.
Thank goodness for extended warrenties

This one sounds to good to miss.
Since you're coming up from Alb. maybe we can find a meeting place up this way (near Santa Fe?)

This is a one day ride. Meet us on the Veterans Highway by-pass around Santa Fe. We should be there around 10:00

"Veterans Highway Bypass"...
Okay, just as soon as I figure out what/where that is (I'm new here).
Sounds like 599 (?) It cuts north from I-25, past the Santa Fe Airport?

Yeah, it exits I-25 south of Santa Fe and comes out North of Santa Fe going to Espanola and Taos. Or if ya want, you can catch us as we go by the Casino north of Santa Fe.

Got it.
Which Casino(s)?
Camel Rock, or Cities of Gold? You should go by both...
Do I hang out on the side of the road until I see 300 VTXs roar by? :)

VTX-Rider, looking forward to meeting you. This is a great ride. I don't know how many are riding, but be looking for a silver '05 1800 F, a magenta 1800 C with matching hard bags and a Candy Red Wing. If Mountain Man didn't e-mail you, we'll be looking out for you beside the road near one of the casinos. I saw a pic of your bike so we will be looking for you.

Yeah, I already PM'd him. It looks like we will have around 6 to 12 bikes.
We may hit a little rain on the way back home from Taos or Santa Fe, so you may want to take rain gear. It will be cold in the mountains as well so
bring warm gloves and jacket. See everyone at West Honda in the morning!! :D

All;
I'm still hoping to make it. My wife works until 10:00, so I'll be leaving here (Los Alamos) about 10:15. I should be at the 502 junction by 10:45. If you're leaving Rio Rancho at 9:30, this should be pretty close. Hopefully, I won't miss you. This sounds like a good ride.
Watch for me at the 502/285 junction (Cities of Gold Casino / Los Alamos exit).

All;
I'm sorry I missed you today.
I tried to get down there as fast as I could. I made it to Pojoaque by about 10:45+/- 5 minutes. I waited around until almost 11:30 thinking you were taking a bit longer to make it up from Rio Rancho (maybe an unscheduled gas stop or something).
When I didn't see you, I rode up to Taos solo. It was a very nice ride, that's a great section of road for a ride. I opted out of the Enchanted Circle though, because the weather was looking bleak, and it was cold. So I turned around and came home.
I have to voice that I'm a bit dissapointed that a meeting point wasn't established, and adhered to. I couldn't have missed you by more than a few minutes. You could possibly have stopped, and waited a few minutes for member riders to join, rather than do the "catch us if you can" like today. Especially since I was very clear on when, and where I could meet up with you.
I'm not sure I'll bother to try it again next time.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your ride.

Ric, sorry we missed you. I clearly told you that we would be through your area between 10:30 and 11:00. We were there at 10:32. As far as a meeting point. We also talked about you waiting around the pojuque casino area. You were not there. You can't wait until 9:30 the night before a ride and E-mail that you have to wait for you wife 'till 10:00 am. I did not read that E-mail .As far as stopping and waiting for you, we had already been riding an hour, and the Enchanted Circle ride is an all day affair and we can't wait not knowing if someone is going to show up or not.
With that said, we do hope to meet and ride with you next time.

Guys,
I enjoyed the ride but following Gary in the rain is tough with that high rear fender on that 1800F. Oh by the way, great rooster tails Gary.
All kidding aside it was fun, the food in Red River was good and the brownies WOW what a sugar rush.
For those that bailed, we really didn't see any rain till we hit Espanola on the way home.
Hope we do it again soon,
Uncle Buck

Hell yeah it was fun. We had a great ride. I'm gonna put a Mack truck mud flap on it for ya Dave. :D Those damn brownies were a sugar rush for sure. I'm just disapointed we missed meeting Ric in Pojaque.
He is upset with us. The poor guy is already pissed at us and he hasn't even ridden with us yet! If I had known about his late night E-mail,we could have waited or taken our time getting there.
Later ,Gary

Gary,
I e-mailed Ric and he is ok realizes just a miss. From our conversations he seems fine and seems still eager to ride with us. I would appreciate the mud flap that's great that you're thinking of us.
