Well, they've found why my front wheel is eating bearings up. There was no bearing spacer inside the hub for the bearing races to run on. So, does any of you guys have your old stock wheel laying around that I could pillage that part so I can get my bike back up on Tuesday? I first must call RC Components to make sure that I can use the stock one, they may have their own spacer and I will call them on Monday to be sure. If the stock one does work, I will buy a new spacer to replace yours. I just wanted to get my wheel done and my bike back on the road.
Thanks Guys, I do appreciate the help. 8)

I have one, but I'm tied up all day at work. I'll check with you again when I free up to see if you've found one yet.

Great, I will let you know Monday if RC uses the same piece and figure out where I can meet you to pick it up. Thanks a BUNCH, I owe you. 8)

Spike, That spacer is not critical. The bearings are radial bearings and not thrust bearings. If you can figure out the distance between them, cut a piece of tubing to fit.
It is #1 you are talking about right?

That's what I thought too Joe, but I'm on my 3rd bearing on the right side this summer :shock: So, maybe it does give something for the bearing race to run against so when I tighten the axle bolt down I don't squish the bearings too much. Right now, I'll try anything to make the wheel run right. 8)

Yes, that's what it's for. Keeps the inner races from floating with no support they will destroy themselves. Wish I was back to work, I could make you one if I had the dimentions. :cry:

Hey Spike,

I worked until 10am (looooooong time) or I would have posted sooner. Had to get some sleep afterall. ;)

I'll drop the wheel in my trunk tonight and maybe I could meet you after work tomorrow, or if you have time you could meet up by me around lunch time. I work in Vernon Hills (between 45 & 60 on Rt. 21.

I'll PM you my number so you can give me a call tomorrow to finalize plans.

Verrice, thanks a BUNCH on willing to help me out, but the diagnosis from RC Comp is........a proprietary piece. Meaning, the stock one will not work I have to get a new one from RC Comp. Thankyou very much anyway, they said I should get the collar on Wednesday, here's keeping my fingers crossed. 8)

If worse comes to worse, you could always bolt on a mismatched wheel I suppose. I'll leave it in my trunk, if you like, in case you get to that. The tire on it has some life left.

If it is the same size as the rear spacer, Mike has a piece leftover from AcroPhat that is about 8" long. Nothing more than schedule 80 pipe.

I can actually do ya one better than that Spike. If the front and rear are the same size, I have one already cut. This would be the stock one Hal sent with my Super Hub. I had to cut one a bit longer since I had to shim the rear wheel. If you have any idea what the stock size is, see if it matches the numbers below.

I.D. = .825
O.D. = 1.065
Length = 5.345

Either way, as Bluto says, nothing special about this spacer, just needs to fit over the front axle and be cut to the correct length.

Thanks guys, I have RC shipping one today and I should get it Wednesday/Thursday. DuPage has the bearings so I should have the wheel on Thursday at the latest. I hope. 8)
