The biker was riding a cruiser, I think they said it was a Kawasaki, with his wife and child on a bike beside him when a Mandeville City worker, in a city truck, made a U-turn in front of him on Hwy 190 & 22. The biker hit the city workers trailer and was dragged 54 feet before the worker stopped. My buddy at Mandeville P.D. said the biker was going to make it, however he was hurt pretty bad, the bike on the other hand was trashed. I hope everyone who rode today made it back home safe and sound
Addendum:
I just found out another biker went down a few minutes ago in Sun, Louisiana between Bogalusa and Covington. The biker, a friend of mine was riding a Heritage Soft tail on Hwy 16 eastbound, as he closed on the intersection of Hwy 21 he realized he was going to fast so instead of darting threw the stop sign and across the 4-lane intersection Robbie decided to lay it down. After laying it down the bikes inertia continued causing it to slide across the southbound lanes stopping in the median. Fortunately there was no southbound traffic and Robbie only suffered a broken arm and wrist and the bike, besides a few scratches can be fixed. I dont know about yall but the way I see it, March has been terrible for the motorcycle community. Once again lets be careful out there
