I was discussing the idea of buying the VTX patch from HDOL and haveing a local embrordering (spelling) shop stitch "louisana" across the top of the patch. Bareass mentioned that there was a big thread about wearing certain patches and offending certain people. )on the 1800 boards) I remember reading something about it but dont remember hearing any conclusion.

two things:

1. what do you guys think of the patch idea?

2. herd anything about being able to wear a patch in this nature without pissing of other "bike gangs"?

Thanks,

If you want to wear a patch, wear it. Most 1% bikers just laugh at the "rubs" wearing biker patches and clothes. I know we don't consider ourselves as "RUBS" but they might. I doubt our patches would agitate anyone. Now wear a Banditos logo and someone might start a fight.

Jack, did you see the 6 or 7 page thread on the 1800 forums discussing all the people who had been harassed for wearing patches that they didn't agree with?
Perhaps you should check that out. While I haven't had any problems personally, I don't wear any patches either.

I've been wearing a VRCC patch for 4 yrs without problem. Perhaps it is the places they are going and the crowd they run into there that is the problem. Most folks will leave the others alone if they don't draw attention to themselves and I don't believe a generic VTXRider/VTXOA patch and Louisiana Rocker will do that by themselves. One Per Centers, if that is what the problem people are, could care less what you ride or wear if you aren't in their "house" or trying to move in on their "business". I use to run with the Little Rock Banditos, although I never joined the group, and most were just druggies, Ho runners, and petty thieves and could have cared less what other groups were doing or wearing if it didn't affect them. I stopped running with them when I got a little older and decided Jail was not a promising future, nor was death. I've seen this topic beat to death on the boards and I just don't see the problem is one of just rockers. Its more likely what is overheard by other folks. You know we Honda owners can get pretty rightious over our bikes.
Also, just when does somebody wearing a Louisiana VTX patch make them a member of a "gang"? Are we doing something we shouldn't ????
Anyway, that is my 2 cents.

Thanks for the input Jack. What do you think of the patch idea? I did a little research on getting patches made. From what i found out i think it would be easier to do thid than to have patches made, due to the number of patches that one would be required to purchas.

Gadgetguy, I think whatever you guys want and we can do, is the right way to go. It IS expensive to make just a few patches. We worked with someone on the VRCC sponsor list (for the Louisiana VRCC) to have patches and shirts made for over a year before we got the shirts and those were a limited production offering. The patches were too expensive to be profitable for the supplier. Never got them made. The shirts ran $22.

I have price quotes for 4" patches and 10" patches. The price per patch isnt to bad BUT i dont want to have 100 patches (50 of each) lieing around collecting dust. I cante really afford to front that kind of money right now anyway. I had the prices quoted on the flaming X logo.
