View Full Version : Mileage
I found this odd, we all knew that it is 5280 ft. on land but it also states 6076 ft. on water...........I didn't know that, how did they figure that?
Okay, Some people wonder how much one rides in one year and this past year (2005) weather wise has been a good one but our gas cartel hasn't been nice to us. So if you feel like it post the mileage that you rode this year so far and weekly you will have to have MATCHSTICK to verify yours  there is no prizes or  maybe we will give Matchstick away to the one that has the least
This is another post to add to the clutter 8)

I don't get to ride as much as some of you but I have been lucky enough to log alittle over 13K this year. I'm even proud to say that Racer was leading several of those.

14K this riding season, which starts for me in late March. That would be about 12,000 nautical miles according to Buett. But really, almost all my miles were on dry land so I'm going with the 14K.

Morning all!
I racked up ~ 2K on the Harley before selling it and over 8K on the BMW since 6 July this year. Still not as much as I'd like. It does seem that our weather will hold in there for at least another month. I plan to ride to work all winter as long as road conditions permit. Round trip about 32 miles (~29 Nauts).
I am all for hooking up in the doldrums of deep winter. Superbowl weekend is a good excuse and about middle of the season.
Termite, really appreciate the trial run on the Arai. Best helmet I ever had on my noggin!
40% chance of rain Sunday am, but temps in 60's. Any takers for a morning putt?
Best weekend wishes!
the first C I traded it off when it had 27350.? had it one year and two months. put three sets of tires on it and one water pump and brake pads, and Spark plugs
this one We will name it #2  bought it 062304 put 8000 miles on it the first summer (didn't ride it very much) and it now has 33,271. on the third set of tires (by the way, these Avons were free thanks to the Avon rep. :!: ) I did get 16500 miles out of the first avons  I have replaced the water pump and plugs......After Honda replace the battery, front fender, gas tank, two oil leaks and one set of valve covers he tells my dealer that "this bike is all out of good will" well the covers still seep oil. the dealer told me that they would make it right and use Yamabond on it next time  ole #1 didn't leak oil, it just ran like a bat out of hell #2 just has issues  I will edit this after every time I ride a little  maybe

THANKS FOR THE THOUGHT CG.
I DIDN'T, BUT DID ANYONE PUT MILES ON TODAY? IT WAS NICE BUT I HAD OTHER COMMITMENTS. I HAVE TO WORK ON THE COMBINE TOMORROW, BUT IF IT DOESN'T RAIN, I'LL TURN WRENCHES AS FAST AS I CAN AND MAYBE GET 100-200 MILES IN. YEAH RIGHT!

Rode about 300 today. Decided I would head down to the Red River Gorge via the scenic route per my Tripmaker software. Pretty drive, missed a turn and wound up out in the middle of nowhere KY.... some would say that could be anywhere in KY.... but out there... bike on reserve....little, can you say little? 2 lane. No where to turn around so there was this shallow ditch... I need to tatoo on the inside of my eyelids that this bike is 650 lbs and should not to leave the road under any circumstances. Laid it down softly but still bent the bars and broke one of the lights off the light bar. Does Honda sell replacements??? bike in ditch with wheels going up hill.... Fortunately a guy comes by with a Viet Nam Vet license plate on his truck and helps me pick it up or I would still be there. Put Put to gas station, brace against sissy bar and push bars back mostly into shape with my foot. Pride is wounded Put Put away. Stopped at Bell's Honda in Georgetown to see if Honda would sell me a replacement light. Bars are very close after more pushing. I hate to replace them but may have to. Zing down the interstate 80 miles no stops butt is sore gotta, look into a new seat for this thing. Add it to the parts list.

soz about the ride bro.Yes Honda sells replacements. You might check the 1300 classified board too.
matchstick did you sell your bike? I never see you on it any more
I saw this for my own eyes last thursday, in your home town matchstick, you should give it a test drive, not sure on how much it cost, it does take coins or tokens! In Patricks there is a HD pinball machine  I didn't put any money in it (I was afraid I would get ripped off) go play it who knows, maybe it will make the potato potato sound

Well if that don't beat all! Mine goes up hill just as fast
This my own personal opinion (as if anyone cares) the people that I met up with this year and rode with (when I could) are the best (for once weekly is right)  we are the people that just like to have fun and ride, poke at each other and are big enough to take it  I was on the first board before they switched to this one and the people were just wound a little too tight and at a drop of a dime they were all over each other over spark plugs, oil, octane, when and where and who should adjust your valves, the list goes on to who should be king and some of the people even used their number as if it was going to carry any clout
then came Matchstick!!!! (everyones friend) the person that rides to meet people to go riding some more! I says to myself, self I have to meet this dude, he just might ride as much as I, in short I finally a person on the board that rides  and he brings with him other people that will ride too      Now we have a group that gets alone and has fun and are not afraid to ride  I came to a conclusion a long time ago that I live on the wrong side of the river............... I cannot say enough about how great this group is, and CG for getting every thing organized, and this one stop ucky yuppie board going! Let's just say it is not stuffy here and the COMPLAINERS can do what they do the best,( to each other and go to V-twin talk )
Now that should get some feathers ruffled

Wow Racer...You sure opened my eyes. How could we be so stupid as to retire? I think I'll start looking for a job after the weekend, no, after Thanksgiving, no, after Christmas, no, after New Years, no, I guess there is just no time this year to look for a job. I'll just wait and maybe in the Spring after planting season is over............
