So has anyone else heard the rumors that Mikes Famous is going to partner up with Planet Honda?
Just curious what others think about that.

Where did you hear that? Nope, I haven't heard that, and I live right by Planet Honda, bought my bike there, and am there nearly every weekend.
Why would they do that? So then would they be the largest Honda dealership in the world as well?
That can't be true! Mikes would never put there name on a Honda product!

Mikes bought Powersports East on Rt 40 in Bear. I found out 2 weeks ago. The guy I bought my Goldwing from is the assistant sales manager and he told me. He said Mike is taking in so many metric bikes in trade, and selling them on the internet, that hes not making any money. So he needed a retail outlet to make some money. I guess Planet Honda wont be the highest place around to buy a Honda anymore.

I was mis-informed. I was up Powersports East yesterday and was talking to Sam the asst. manager who told me this. I asked him how his new boss was. He said "Mikes isnt buying this place" Now he had just told me three weeks ago that he was. I swear all these salesman wouldnt know the truth if it bit them in the a$$. I guess they are so used to lying its hard to tell the truth. He told me "No, Mikes is buying Planet Honda". I dont know :? So maybe the rumors true. I tell you what, Mikes is the most expensive place to buy a Harley and Planet Honda is the most expensive place to buy a Honda. Maybe Mike and Kim are related. lol

Hey Brian,
I'm surprised at your comment on Planet Honda's prices. I bought my bike there because they were the best price! Honda east wouldn't even come close. Please don't take this post the wrong way, as I'm just offering up my experience, not criticizing you or yours.
What I did was search the internet, and found the cheapest price on an 1800c that I could find. Happened to be a dealer in NC. I printed that out, took it to Honda East and they laughed at me and said they have more into the bikes than that! I told the guy if he matched it, I'd take the bike right then. He said "if you can find one for that, let me know, and we'll buy a couple!"
Took the same ad to Planet Honda, salesman says let me talk to the owner, comes back 5 minutes later and asks "you'll take it tonight?" I said that was the idea, wrote him a check and walked out no hassles at all. Good people to deal with. I think they do advertise they will match any price out there.
Now, they may have asking prices that are higher on the stickers they put on the bikes, I don't know. I do know they sold me my bike for almost 3k less than what was on the sticker. But who pays those prices anyway?
I'd go back to PH in a heartbeat. I'll never bother with Honda East again. The salesman there were just plane rude!
(And no, I did not receive any payment from PH for posting this, nor do I work there or have any relatives that work there!) :D

I agree, I bought my bike from Planet Honda. And found their prices to be somewhat lower than Honda East. I like their service and parts people better than Honda East as well. But again, just personal preference.
I thinks Mikes is probably just looking for a way to be able to take trades for the Harleys and then be able to sell them too.
Who knows!!!

Remind me when I see you to tell you about my 2 Planet Honda storys. I had price issues with them when I bought my X and again when I bought my Goldwing. Price match my a$$. That Kim wouldnt even match the prices I was getting and then I caught her and the salesman in a lie and when I called them on it they got pissed. I go with who ever has the best price. The 2 bikes I got from Honda East I went in and told them what I was going to pay. Only thing the asked is if I was paying cash. When I told them I was they agreed to my prices. Im not the only one that has had problems with Kim. I know a guy named Harry that is a member of the Golwing Riders assoc. and is tight with Kim. He told me that he has sent 3 guys to her to buy Goldwings and she has done the same thing to them as she did to me. Remember, I dont care what price is on the bike. No price is written in stone. Just because Honda East has a high price on the bike doesnt mean they wont take less. Hey, I dont like Honda East either. That little a$$hole sales manager Mark, Id like to kick the living crap out of that little smart a$$. I even told my salesman Id like to do it. He laughed and said "You must know Mark". He said when I took my Goldwing that I had to meet with Mark. I told him dont bring that prick over here. But... They were the cheapest around. So wether I like them or not I will buy from them as long as they have the cheapest price. I was never lied too by them like I was at Planet Honda though

Brian,
That's cool....I'd like to hear your stories. I think the bottom line is all the places are a bit crooked. They don't call them stealers for nothing. They will attempt to get away with what they can if you let them. I feel sorry for people who go in and buy and don't do their homework.
I was pretty happy with the deal I got for them, but they did push real hard for me to bring my 1800 in for the "600 mile service." We all know the deal with that. Needless to say, I changed my own oil, and checked all my torque values and saved the $400 bucks.
Honda East always did rub me wrong though. The one day the salesman I was talking to admitted to me they "cater to guys with bad credit.....we can get you lower payments, and that is why our bikes cost more." What a joke!
I'm planning on the ride this weekend. Maybe we can talk more then. Be safe.

Went there on Saturday and right up front of the store were some used Harleys. It was funny because when we walked in and we were looking at the Harleys this one guy walked over and introduced himself. Then we went over the the new VTX's and he immediately walked away. Thought it was strange, but then talked to Vince who said he was a salesman from Mikes.
I hope that Mikes doesnt take over and push the Honda's out.
