As the subject states, I purchased my bike today. I got the 2005 1300r in silver as I wanted. I was very happy with the deal. The only sad part is that i will not have my license for a week, so no insurance. Even though it was a cash sale, i refuse to take the bike out with out insurance and license, especially with so many traffic lights out right now.

I dont have pictures of my actual bike, and since it is show room bone stock I am sure most everyone on here is familiar with it.

Of course when I went to the "Business Manager I was offered some extras. What is everyones feelings on the following additional purchases with a bike:
Extended Warranty?
Tire Maintenance?
Prepaid Service?

The only one that I purchased was the prepaid service, got 1st 6 services for $600, considering the 1st one alone is $200, this is the only one that I see is not a risk based investment. Its also transferable so...

Anyway, I am thinking of the addon that I want, but I want to get used to the bike before I consider any further purchases. The 1st thing will probably be a backrest for the wife, then some saddle bags, then the pipes once the bike is broken in.

I cannot wait to see all of you out on the road. my first group ride will be on Sunday the 20th, one of my good friends with his chopper, his friend that owns a Harley, and I are going to cruise up and around the lake...

Until then, ride safe....

My guess is you went to Riva. Good choice. I bought the whole package. You are correct in getting the prepaid service especially if you plan to Keep and ride the bike not just park it and read this board. I put 22k miles on in the first 18 months I've owned the bike. It has paid for itself. I also have and believe in the extended warranty, and the GAP insurance. well worth the price. I'm not sure about the Tire coverage. I may have it and not know what its good for. Oh well who cares. Lets ride the darn things and worry about tires later.

Welcome aboard.

Actually, Riva did not have any is stock and if they did there price was still higher, I ended up a Delray PowerSports. They had a great price and is my closest shop to top it off...
