Okay, I rode on Saturday. However, I only rode because I had to start my bikes. My 1300R started right up and I didn't have to leave the wamth of my garage. I put my Stabil in and turned off the gas, bike died and I was happy. The CBR was a little different. Tried starting and the battery went dead. :( so, went to Menards got a battery charger, charged the battery. Started right up. so, I HAD to go for a quick ride. Mind you NO Wind protection. And, I think I read somewhere that the battery charges best at 95MPH. So the battery is charged but I'm still thawing out. Christmas Eve is suppose to be 39 in Ft Wayne!!! I'll have the VTX out for sure!!!
Looks like it is time to gather up all of my parts and throw them back on so I can escape this hell

I rode to work this morn brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
who knows maybe I will ride today and see if the new sealing goo has cured ole leaky  and see if my $0.10 paint job stays on the engine.
the best thing that I did was filed down and reshaped the fins at the front exhaust port, the V&H big shots almost fell on by them self.

Buett, that's good idea. Next time we get together I want to see how it came out. I always struggle putting the BigShots back on.

Well to say the least so far A H.D. guru said 1st. where did you get those X's I said oh those 3M stick ons  HDL! what did you use to paint the engine? it really looks nice (oil leak must be cured) he asked if I got it powder coated, it looks like it.
now the fins I used a single speed cheap drill I picked up at walmart with a round bur I used back when I was port matching and de knoting some 302 heads. I Removed about an 1/8" ( I guess) of fin and kept the (almost) the same shape and finished with a fine file and sand paper.
Looking back a little more would have made it better, no rope, prybar or anything else, The first stab at it I did get the stud inside of the pipe, so I back up and gave it a twist and it went into place like it was made for the bike
It worked fine but I didn't find the V&H's that big of a problem in the first place now they are real easy to put on.
If you are going to paint your engine it looks normal but not sure if it would be noticeable if it was to stay the silver looking color, but on the other hand most people won't know or care due to the close proximity of the exhaust to the head.
This is a fact, you won't see it at 60 MPH. I promise!
