Anybody ride on the weekends during the colder months? My rule of thumb is, if it is 40 degrees or warmer and no moisture, I'll ride.

I'll ride if the roads are dry. I can handle cold temps easier than I can handle moisture. I just got the bike a month or so ago, and I'm just not willing to wait for spring to ride it. I've got nearly 800 cold weather miles on it aready. It was pouring all day Saturday, so I had to settle for a short ride to the store, today. I wouldn't have been able to squeeze that in, but my wife wanted vacuum cleaner bags/belts, so I made a break for it.

As long as it is above 40 too...but if it is sunny I have been known to go a little colder.

I left Hot Springs, AR after the Aspencade rally in '85 on my wing and it was 24 degrees that morning. There is a little more protection on a wing than the X.

I took the bike out for a little ride after work yesterday. I have ridden down as low ar 26 but that was a little chilly. I will normally ride if it is not wet down to 36. After that I really have to get the winter gear out. I go to a full face helmet at 40 degrees. I have a neoprene skiing mask that I wear with the other helmet.

Hang around Kevin; I'm getting the itch to ride too. The Southern Cruisers are planning an "Easy Ride" on Sunday the 11th. Everybody is getting overcome with "cabin fever". If you can/want to go, meet the others riders at the pavallion in Freeman Park in Bartlett @ 2:00 with kickstands up @ 2:15 p.m. Freeman Park is located on the west side of Bartlett Blvd about 1/2 mile south of Stage Road & just south of The Pig N Whistle restaurant. I personally do not like easy rides,(normally slow make me nervious), but might go anyway just to get out with other bikers.
This ride will probably last a couple hours and end up at a local restaurant for vittles and socializing. They're a nice group of folks.....COME OUT & PLAY :!: :!:

REALBOB,
Thanks for the invite. I will surely join in on some rides. Unfortunately, I will be out of town this weekend.
