Thank you folks . Iam real sore today,I guess I lucky to be alive. They wanted to Live Line me at first ,I was kinda in shock and bad.they couldnt find a place to land it close so they took me. They tested everything and I got better so after 6 hrs I went home. I had my leathers on so not much road rash. I still dont know what went wrong,I knew the road was slick,I was slowing for a curve, but the bike just wasnt slowing enough, so I got on the brakes harder and I went down the bike some how was in the air or up sidedown and as we hit the ditch it landed on me. Weekly is going after my bike for me,I hear its not bad at all .

I went and seen my bike, its stuck in gear,a turn light brokeand a few other things I could see.It hurt but I had to sit on it for a minute. I have full coverage Ins. so it should be ok. I cant wait to ride that road again. I think road conditions had a lot to do with my wreck. I had my wife drive me over there. I saw little grains of sand on the road as well as it was wet. I sure am sore.

Thanks again all. After several 100 phone calls to my ins.comp.the wrecker comp.and Bloomington Motor Sports , my X will be on its way to Bloomington in the morning for the repair est. At first my Ins.comp didnt want to pay to have it moved but when I told them I did have any choice where it was taken cause I was"face down in a ditch" they desided they would pay it.
Oh boy, well the main thing is that your doing better, don't worry about the bike they make new ones every day!

Man oh man. What can I say... Got your message and was really relieved . I've seen that bike slip on wet pavement before. Remember when??? I am tickeled that your not in any worse shape than you are and that the wheels have been set in motuon to get started on the bike repairs/replacement.. Let me know if ya need anything. I'll do my best to get ahold of someone who has it, lol
Be safe my friend

I got the police report and the officer blamed it on road condtions, that may save me a bunch on ins. I also got to call the guy that saw it happen and pulled my bike off me and thank him. It turns out I went down on my back and had the handle bar hand grip on my chest. When he pulled it off me I slid down the ditch in the water and crawled up a little and started blacking in and out.

That was the worse call I had in my life.. telling me that Greg was in a bike wreck... and the hospital was over an hour away...My friend drove me over to Bloomington... when I called the hospital all they could tell me that he was in pain and they are running test on him.... he looked so sad laying on the back board with that neck brace on.....some one was praying for him because it was good news when they told me nothing was wrong... thanks for all your thoughts and prayers....YOU ARE GOOD FRIENDS.........
and on a funny note when the doctor told me that the cat scan of matchsticks head was normal I had to ask him for a second opinion .... because as we know he is far from being normal......
racer04
01-05-2006, 08:33 PM
Hahahaha,is normal a thin line, or a wide expressway. I choose it's a wide expressway, and I just keep bouncing between the guardrails.....like a certain frind of mine....CoughmatchstickCough
You go gurl!

Yup I second that one Good Friends. ahhhhhhhhhh heck who wants to be"normal" ? I have a good time....shhhhhh the voices are talking
I'm glad your alright, reminds me of a joke. a lady brings her(dead) pet bird in to the vet's office, she say's will you look at my bird and tell me whats wrong? the vet said: the bird is dead! she said no! take it back there and run some test on it, so the vet did, he first brought the black lab out and the dog sniffed it and walked away, and then he went back and got a cat and brought it to the birds side and the cat sniffed it and walked away, and the lady looked at the vet and said what was all of that? the vet said "the lab report is that your bird is dead, the cat scan showed that your bird is dead" now would you like a second opinion? that will be $85.00
Matchstick, Have you heard anything about your bike yet?

Yeah the estimate I got is 4369.00. I have to fax it to the Ins company. I asked if I could use custom parts if they were the same or less than original Honda parts. Honda pipe quote..765.00.....HK..543.00 the Ins.comp said sure.So I may have some new pipes and stuff. btw out of the 4369.00 only 647.00 is labor. But the est includes a new gas tank, new front fender, new handle bars, new timing cover, new front master cyl. housing, all new cables, new foot boards, new hand grips, new windshield and mounts, new foot pedal for rear brakes, new frt turn signals and one rear signal.new mirror, and a couple of nuts and bolts.

Hey Matchstick,
So I guess the silver lining is that you get to customize your bike! HDL gives a bike builders discount of 10%, which will add up if you are spending $4k. You can get some enjoyment out of what was a pretty bad situation. Just glad you didn't get hurt.
Have a good one,

Are they going to give you new hose clamps? Make sure you tell them it's all honda  and where are they going to find a new spounge bob back rest pad? is the frick-ken bell still there?

Well I couldnt take it anymore. I had my boy drive me over in the truck and bring my X home today. I feel better just having it here. The Ins.company said they even pay me a percentage to do my "own" work. I figured it out and if I use all custom parts from HDL ,Iam still 1200.00 less expensive than the dealer doing it with their "stock " parts. The repair work is mostly unbolt old part and bolt on new part.

Iam still kinda sore, real sore in my shoulder and chest where the handle bars hit me. Prob. would have killed a lesser man.... .  The est and damage pics and police report, etc etc are being sent in. The police ruled it "crash due to road conditions" and no driver fault ,so thats good.
