View Full Version : Any graphics folks out there?
Does anyone have the knowledge and tools to make us a graphic for the "South Florida X-Riders"?

If we get the graphic ready, I can put it on a transfer paper and print it on t-shirt for cost.

A good friend of my have a t-shirt business, so I can get a good deal,
The think is, if we go with Light color shirt ( white, grey, yellow ) I can print
The transfer paper and put it on the back & front, it will be very cheap $5-6 per
T-shirt ( M-XL). If we go with Black, It completely different process and the cost
Jump to $12+ per T-shirt. I will have one shirt with the new logo print this weekend
And I will try to post it.

Question can I get these with a chest pocket? And how much...
Hey guys and gals, I really like what Nasty came up with for us. I didn't expect the response his design got. I got an e-mail from one of our X-brothers in WPB and his wife is a graphic designer. He has some ideas and I am trying to meet up with him next weekend. What do you think? Are we ready to move forward on what Nasty sent us or should we wait and see what other ideas come up and then do a poll in a week to see what everyone wants?
Once we decide who would be interested in T-shirts and Patches? I can talk to Wilbur and see if he can help us with patches in bulk.
See poll attached to original thread.
Just a Brother trying to help get this thing going.

No offense to Nasty's design, but I like his VA pin design better.
Whatever the majority decides, I'd like to get a t-shirt with the logo IF the t-shirt is silk screened. I don't like the feel of the iron-on transfers. I'd much rather pay $20 for a t-shirt with a good looking silk screened design than $6 for a so-so design ironed on to a t-shirt. Call my picky if ya wants (my wife sure does).

I'm willing to buy some product and support the effort. However I'd like to see another design or two before a decision is made. Seems like the South FL X Riders ought to have something incorporated into the logo that is typically South FL like a palm tree, the beach, the sun, gators, or maybe a condo commando who can barely see over the wheel of his cage. 8) I don't have the ability to create one from scratch, but I'll know it when I see it and I'm not sure the one we have is it IMO.

I'm with the Head (not sure that came out right).
Pauls designs are by far the best so far.
I especially like the bottom, or top, half of the last design. (With the "South Florida" theme worked in.)

As a Graphic artist by proffession, let me say that we have some VERYTalented people on this board.
Some of the stuff you guys come up with are great.
BUT Let me give one piece of advice.
BEFORE choosing your end design. be sure you realize what it is you are going to do with it. What looks GREAT on a computer screen does NOT always make good Patches or Silk Screened T-shirts. Nothing is impossible mind you, but (as one state chapter already found out) it can be VERRRRRRYYYYY Expensive to reproduce complicated designs when the numbers are lets say under 100.

Work you magic Paul. Were going to wait until this weekend and then take a poll from the South Florida X'ers to see what we want. Please just remember that we will probably eventually want to get shirts and patches done of the logo and we need to try to keep the graphics basic enough so patches can be made.
Thanks again for your assistance in helping us.

Allrighty... this was a quick one... Let me know what you think or want to see different. The idea of using the state as part of the x came to me at work today... Thought it would look cool...

PaulRH's graphic is getting close IMO. Paul, could you change South Florida to S FL, and do a series with different colors?
Thanks a lot!

Paul, thanks again for your efforts. I like the idea of incorporating the state into the X but I still think that the realistic flames and detail of the lettering are going to be near impossible to make into a patch if some of us want them.
Any ideas or comments?

let me try to tone it down a little and try some different flames...
Here is Some Camera Ready (meaning ready for the silk screener) artwork. I'll send it to who ever wants it. This I will gaurentee will work with Silk Screen. and only a three color screen.
Some of these graphics you guys came up with are really sharp. I wouldn't try to make patches or shirts out of them though. Just some advice from someone in the business.

What format are those. Are they prepared with paths or Layers? I see about 8 diffderent layers. I hope your not using JPG, GIF or PSD. They need to be VECTOR grafix unless you are really really wealthy. Raster (photoshop) is NOT Camera Ready.

I Guess they're NOT Camera Ready
If you have something like Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw Professional, then make (work) paths in Photoshop Then export to one of the other programs.
You will need to do some cleanup, but this way you can convert to Vector Based grafix. Be SURE to Layer each Color into it's own layer. Also, Halftones (Gradients) are pricey, especialy if there is more then two colors involved.
For example a gradient flame (Yelow to Red) has more then just the two colors. You can do it with two but it wont look ANYTHING like what you have on the screen. Each Color Cost money. Halftones are ALWAYS Extra.
Again just tryin ta help

Most excellent designs!!!
This is fantastic, guys. Paul and Dawg, thanks so much. I would love to get either of Paul's designs, once all the techno mumbo jumbo Dawg talked about is done, in silk screen short and long Ts.

I don't have a program like that (Illustrator or Draw). So this is as far as I can go with the logo... If I can find one on iMesh I'll d/l it, but even if I do find it, it would take me some time to figure out how to do what you said to do. And I think these guys would like something sooner then when I could get it to them.
