for the Heritage rally, I've emailed grandpaj that I'd be happy to organize a dinner for you. There are several choices within a short ride (5 or 6 miles) of the Fairgrounds but keep in mind that there should be a large number of bikes coming into town and until we've decided on the type food y'all want and the night (Friday or Saturday) I won't know if I can find a place that'll take a reservation for a group. Wild Wings, Carrabbas(typically very crowded), OutBacks, Olive Garden, Hooters are all within a stone's throw of each other, but I'm not sure any will take a reservation and I don't think any have a separate party room. There is a seafood place further up the road but I haven't been there so I can't vouch for the quality. There is also a steak house (franchise) like Texas Roadhouse (but I'll have to check the name). I'll give food options more thought and maybe there are options that'll work better

downtown Charleston may be an option but last year they instituted a strict noise ordinance outta fear of all us "outlaw" bikers coming into town so I expect the cops to be out in full force as last year.

My experience with Heritage last year was that there were increased police patrols, speed traps everywhere and bikers pulled over for simple license checks. don't let this discourage you from coming into this beautiful city. it's just that the authorities here panicked last year in anticipation of hordes of bikes arriving. I'm hoping things will be more relaxed this year but we shall see.

I've asked Jay to get a head count and I'll ask all of you to think about what sort of food you'd be interested. We'll need a quick decision in order to get a reservation in place.

it's been a while since i've been to gilligan's, are they still good?
i heard about but haven't been to the new steakhouse, any good?

Wolfsmane, give me a shout anytime you'd like to hook up.
I haven't been able to generate much interest among local X riders over the past year so I'm hoping this may be the start of a new trend.

Vince,

Looking forward to seeing you guys while were down next week. And take
a good look at Susan's new (at least new for us) bike. Karen just went
through the introductory riding course.

Hey Redliner i woyuld love to get together with some local X riders i just have to plan way far in advance or get lucky. Mysticx is allso local and rides almost every subday i think. Send him an email or pm and he will let you know. I would be in for the diner but my plans for Friday are to go to the drags. I have a buddy running a bike and a bunch of people from work are going to try and get to the race. Drop me a line if you need anything.

Know you guys will have a great time. Prior commitment will prevent us from being there  . Maybe next time.
