I bought a brand new VTX, I have 20,000+ miles on THAT VTX and I wear VTX shirts, I talk to VTX owners and I ride with other VTX'rs, but I can't sell anything to VTX'rs or give them a deal on products????????

Ok, well, I don't know a thing at all about your particulars. And I'm not siding with anyone and I'm certainly not gonna criticize you for venting. However, let me throw this at ya:

Let's say you start a business - say, selling widgets and widget accessories. After awhile, your business becomes successful and you start selling these widgets and accessories online. You draw a multitude of customers because your prices and customer support are first rate and your business grows. Your customers have various different models of widgets and can customize them to their choosing using your widget accessories. You decide to provide an on-line forum where your customers and POTENTIAL customers can talk widgets and accessories further increasing your business visibility.

Of course, since this is free enterprise, there are other businesses selling different kinds of widgets and accessories.

Now, the question: Would you let your competitor advertise freely on your website on your nickel? Using your servers, technicians, bandwidth, and reputation? Or could you allow them to lamblast you or your product publicly? On your nickel?

If I'm way off base here, I'll apologize here and make a beeline your way and buy you a beer. I've followed some of your posts and you appear like a decent Joe - same as everyone else here. So, certainly no disrespect for you big guy. But I think you're wrongly blaming your potential competitor???

A little off base. I am not selling motorcycles or motorcycle parts. I am offering wholesale items such as collectables, leathers, novelty gifts, etc. I could easily advertise individual items and sale at retail prices here and no one would say a thing. But I offered my wholesale business to other business owners so they could profit. A "help me help you" type offer and it was removed for some reason. In no way am I a competitor for Honda. Simply making an offer from one business owner that rides a VTX to others.

It's because this isn't a "public" website. It's a private site, hosted and paid for (owned) by a private entity. As such, there is no "civil right" (i.e. free speech) involved, and the owner can "censor" anything he likes with no repercussions.

Expecting to be allowed to advertise a business on HDL's site for free is like expecting Microsoft to allow it to be advertised on their site for free. Sure, you're not competing with them, but it's their site running on their dime, and they say what stays and what goes.

This is HDL's garage. Nobody has a "right" to park their bike in HDL's garage except HDL. HDL has the sole right to decide what goes in their garage and what gets kicked to the curb.

You are all right in varying degrees. When I first saw the post, I figured it would get the boot. It wasn't motorcycle related :D But, if it had said "Gee I just got back from Vegas and had a blast. Sure wish I would have had my "X" there. While I was there, I got hooked up with a whole bunch of really cool stuff that I can get at wholesale and other people could make a profit on. Also, I'm a cool bike riding guy and like to share my good fortune with others. You all have a great day riding and keep the shiney side up"...might have worked. :wink:

By the way...after you bring back my pressure washer :twisted: you can put a lnk on my site. I only get a few thousand hits a day and alot of the folks do promotions work. Oh yea...and "have a great day riding" hahaa.

I was just telling the boss that I needed to get that back to you....lol I still haven't done the house, but at this point it may be just a dream. Whoever built the place didn't put any outside spouts around the place. So I need a REALLY LONNNNNNG hose to get around it. I am going that way later today, I will call you......PS, I wish I would have had my X in Vegas, riding a Harley through the Mohave was fun, but would have been more comfortable on the Black Stallion.....lol

OTCPharm, you are correct that the site is offered by HDL and they have the right to censor, but.....Look around this site.....How many items for sale are here????????? Not everything here is Honda. I never claimed to sell motorcycles or parts, etc. I offered a wholesale service to everyone. If you own a business and wanted to do business with a fellow VTX rider, which I would personally prefer, then I gave an option. Like I stated before, I could sell this stuff retail to you guys and they wouldn't have blinked, but I thought I would offer something that helped us all.
