You long ride guys, what's the best preventative for a tender tailbone. I already have the Ulimate Lowrider and although 1000% better than stock, I still have tailbone issues. One guy on this board said that a sheepskin cover was the way to go. Any suggestions here?
thanks much.

You can try a gel pad or gel shorts...www.saddlemen.com. I just saw the ad for the shorts in Cruising Rider May 2006 edition. They sell for $80.00. 800-397-7709. They call them High Performance Saddle Gel Riding Shorts sizes run from S to XXL.

I tried a Low Rider and it still nailed my tailbone like the stock seat. I switched to a Mustang and had no more problems. You may want to try the Big Boy from Ultimate.

I sat on a Mustang once - thought its shape was similar to the Ultimate, but harder. What is there about the Mustang, in your judgement, that makes it work for you where the Ultimate Low Rider didn't?

I weigh 205 - 210. Why do you think the Mustang solved your tailbone problem?

Get a RoHo Airhawk seat cushion. It's about $150. Made using the same technology used for folks in wheelchairs. I have one on a stock seat and can ride 1K+ per day without any soreness.

I can endorse the airhawk now as well. I really like mine and I would say it is very proven in the medical field. Spinal chord injuries sit on them the whole day without any skin breakdown. I just tried mine as Jim assured me it would be worth it. It is! 8)

Hey Guy, none on them specifically. I have 2 friends with seat rebuilds. (gel in them) both seats are poorly built, both seats I would not give you a dollar for. They spent 140.00 for the rebuild. The cost of an airhawk. An airhawk may not look cool, but you'll have the happiest back side around. Pressure tests prove this 100% of the time. 8)

Ok where did you get the best deal and what size fits the standard seat?
I am just about to ride from Vancouver BC to Sacramento and back. Can I get one along the way?

I have ordered many things from them with success. I don't have a firefox firewall though. Maybe take it off for the purchase?
