Just got my new VTX 1300R. :D It just sucks that the weather turns to crap when I got it. Maybe I will have better luck this weekend.
Anyway, just joined the board as a new VTX rider and looking for some fellow riders to join up with this summer with me and my wife.

Congratulations on the new bike and Welcome to the board...

Regarding mods...all of them should be taken care of ASAP!

Call the bank and your credit card company. Give them fair warning that your spending is going to increase dramatically. While you have them on the phone, ask for an increase in your line of credit. Call Hal at HDL. Get on a first name basis with him. Introduce yourself to the UPS man. You're gonna see him a lot!

Pipes, sissy bar/backrest, windshield, luggage bags, air box kit....the list goes on ad infinitum!

"He who dies with the most toys wins!"
"Ride like you stole it!"
…and always remember
"Life is too short to ride with ugly women."

Congratulations and Welcome.

I am still new to the group, but the Forums are the best.

Keep the wheel side down!

I agree completly with you about the weather. I got my X two weeks ago and the weather has sucked since. I've only been able to get about 100 miles on it, and they weren't the best of conditions, but you do what you have to when you need a ride-fix.

Thanks for the welcome. I had a VStar 650 that I bought new last year and decided to trade up. I did alot of

homework over the winter and narrowed it to 2 different bikes. The HD Softail Deluxe and the VTX 1300R. In the end Softail Deluxe, although a beautiful bike, was just not worth thet extra 10 grand it would cost me to buy it.
Several other reasons went into my decision and are as follows. First off I am not convinced that it is mechanically any more sound than a Honda. Performance is, although subjective, supposed to be superior to the 88 V-Twin that is in the Harley. And finally the last reason was that it is built right up the road in Marysville Ohio. So contrairy to what people would have you believe I am buying an American made product and supporting working class people right here in the USA.

By the way, I live just inside of Prospect, KY close the Summit shopping center for those of you who asked.

Welcome Batlou. I think that the bike is going to grow on you. Mine has on me. As you can see from my profile we're neighbors! PM me if you want to ride. I'll go pretty much any time that the weather is over 45 degrees. Also continue to check out this board and the Indyucky board. I know it's a ridiculous name but when you meet the people you will understand. Several rides scheduled or being planned now.

Welcome, Batlou.

Talk about conincidences! I live in Prospect, too. I also had a VStar 650 that I traded on a VTX 1300R in January.

Wow! What a difference in the ride! I know you'll love it.
