Does anyone know where all the flooded bikes ended up? I Need an orange 1300c tank for an '04. Just purchased a new (used) X with a small dent & some scuffing in the tank and am looking at options to having it fixed & repainted. I know when mine was hauled off the tank & paint was perfect - feel that it could be cleaned inside and the outside should be fine - but have no idea where it ended up.

If this doesn't pan out can someone point me in the right direction to have my tank repaired? Never had M/C paint & body work done. For that matter I haven't had any auto work done in quite a few years and want it done right & for a fair price. Suggestions???

Most areas have a insurance salvage pool that the insurance companies sent their totals too to be sold at auction. In most states you have to be a licensed salvage dealer to purchase from the pool. That salvage dealer then can sell to anyone or part the vehicle out. In the states surronding Missouri, where I am licensed, a slavage dealer can purchase any vehicle sold. So bikes can go to any salvage yard that bids, so no telling where they went. You might try to find a local pool and sometimes if you ask they might tell you who buys most of the bikes. There are usually some dealers that buy most of the bikes from any pool.
Hope this helps
