I have been noticing the annual parade of street sweepers taking place in towns like Foxboro, Walpole, Westwood, etc.
Anyone else seeing these wonderful machines grooming the pavement for us? :D

Up here in Vermont, we got the folks with the rotory broom thingies pushing a winters worth of sand and salt off thier lawns out on to the road. That is where it can do the most harm to me and my bike.

Egads! Well that is the wrong way to go with the sand. I will be sure to avoid VT a while longer.

They were in my neighborhood this weekend.
I turned onto a road with a TON of sand in the intersection today in Lakeville, woke me up! Holy crap!

Those frost heaves can be scary! We don't have too much sand down towards the cape, or maybe I should say that we have the same amount year round? :)
Wind blown beach sand Judy?

Hey Duck, nice to "see" you! Actually, it's more like all we have in some areas is sand. No "dirt" to speak of...so a little wind or some rain and the sand is in the street. So far it's been more of a hazard to me when I'm on my bicycle, but I do have a friend who hit some in the road after a bad storm and he put his bike down. You know how it is...you just always have to keep alert.
