Well our string of great luck has come to an end. While riding today, Sat 4/1/06,,,,,Hoovey, Matt, Racer, and Dave we had an accident. While heading south on 150 just south of shoals Dave got too far over to the right in a sweeping left hand curve and went down. The skid marks indicate he was sliding the rear wheel and when the front tire finnaly got to the ditch, and over he went. Bike propeled him up and over the handle bars about 6 ft in the air. When he contacted the ground it was on his left shoulder and he did a gentle roll to his back. Bad part is while being thrown over the bars he made contact with the windshield and this caused (in my opinion) his injuries. 3 broken ribs on his left side. No bleeding on the scene and the bike ain't too bad. Big ole boy is having alot of pain , from the injuries. Seems to come and go. But not a skint place on him, just the ribs...oh I'm sure tomorrow he'll be hurtin in his shoulder. bike sustained a broken windshiels, lightly bent riser, lightlt bent engine guard, and some scratches on the front fender, and l saddle bag lid. He's home now in Georgetown ans won't be ridin for awhile, or workin. Could have been a lot worse........
Word to the wise, first ride of the season...look out, lotta sand /rocks on the road, your skills have gotten a lil rusty....be careful, head up...eyes up. Lets make this a safe and fun riding season. Ole Dave almost saved it, but alas down he went....let this be a lesson to all of us.......And the cagers ain't lookin for us either. Look out, and look out for each other.
