Thinking about heading up there for a day trip one saturday or sunday. Has anyone been there? How was it? Is it worth it? Thanks.

They probably "pay out" at something near the 5-7% level, now, that doesn't mean you'll get or make 5-7% on your bets/money gambled, it's means approx. 5-7% of the folks who go there may win something and leave with it. :o   If you've been to one decent Indian (the ones with the feathers, not the dots) casino, you've basically been to them all. The one in Cherokee is nice, just don't go up there and gamble with money you can't afford to lose. JMHO.

We have ridin the bike up there for a day ride, never stopped in the casino. Never had a desire either.
But it made a good days worth of riding for sure. Lot of roads and the scenery is great.

Mrs. P has a pretty simple "take" on it, whenever I ask if she'd like to stop, she says, "Why don't we just stop in the parking lot and set fire to a couple of twenties and save the time and trouble?"  :o 8)

I enjoy casinos, but for more than just gambling. Are Indian Casinos like the 'flee market' of casinos?

I like Mrs P's take on things. We were there last October when we went to ride the dragon. We stopped in just to say we've been there. Uhhh, hey, the have dedicated bike parking!!!!! We went inside, I LOST 50 CENTS IN THER DANG IT!!!   Ok, that's my take on the casino but they have some cool shops on main st though. We talked to some of the casino workers and they said they've had over 25 people commit suicide their parking lot.

Mrs. P's suggestion reminds me of an offer I made to a guy at work one day. He was checking the winning lottery numbers and I asked if he won. He said, "No, I never win." He also said that he spends a lot on tickets. I don't know what a lot is though. So I offered him a deal. I told him, that if he would give me all of the money he spent on lottery tickets that I would give him half of it back at the end of every month. He laughed and said that he would be better off, but he diddn't take me up on it...yet.

Thanks for the info. I might head up there sometime this summer.
I don't plan on killing myself. I go in with the attitude to spend a predetermined amount or stop at double. You have to gamble for fun and with limits on the low and high end. I mostly leave with nothing, I sometime leave with double and there are many times I leave with a chip or two (you have to say no to digging into your pockets to make a bet work).
It is fun for an hour or two, but then it gets boring. So no one else in GA likes to gamble?

Harrah's Cherokee Casino...
My opinion: Stop thinking about the Beligio and start thinking of the worst bingo parlor you can imagine. its pretty bad. i mean it can be fun to go in and spend 2 hours loosing $20 in nickles but is in no way glamorous. I have been going to cherokee my whole life and this casino is ALOT better then the ones they had w/o Harrah's name attached to it, but is still more in line with Maggie Valley class attractions.

We've been there, on an overnight stop, heading to Gatlinburg. Like was said earlier, if you've been to one Harrahs, you've been to them all.....except no alcohol in this one (probably a good thing). Otherwise, it's nice enough.
I think I won maybe $40 in a slot machine, then blew it all on blackjack. :D Pretty typical....just define how much you plan to lose, then go lose it. :D
