I was thinking about mounting my Garmin Rino 530 to the handlebar while I'm on a road trip. Anyone have any problems with the mount slipping? Is the mount worth buying?

I dont know about the model GPS you have but I mount my Garmin V using a RAM mount.......expensive but rock solid. Looks good too (I have the chrome base ball mount)

I sometimes sport an eTrex on my 'C' using a RAM mount. I met another 1300 rider that had a eTrex mounted with the garmin mount. She said it was solid, but hard to read and she couldn't adjust it.

get a RAM mount - they are worth the money.

I have a Garmin GPSMAP60c mounted using bike handle bar mount on my 1800. works fine. but a ball mount that was more adjustable would be nice.

ram mount here has well for mine...solid and goes from car to bike in the same cradle.

I'm not sure what specific model or nomenclature of mount you're referring to, but just to add on to the preponderance of happy customer reviews, I must also say: RAM MOUNT! They are completely flexible, unequivocally rock-solid, and they install and remove your peripheral with the turn of a thick metal "key" in half the time it took you to read this sentence. An absolute must-have. I was so impressed, 'I bought the company!' [Remember that Gillette commercial? ]

But sincerely, I use RAM mounts for both my Garmin StreetPilot III GPS, AND my Roady2 XM radio -- simply engineered and devastatingly efficient!

I got a nice handlebar mount off ebay. Works great. Mounts with a phillips screwdriver. GPS slips on and off in a second. 8) 8)

I use the ram mount arm and ball with the Garmin GPS mount for my 2730. Locks solid and has a "security" screw for locking the unit into the mount. Works great. Also have the Garmin 76CS with ram mount very solid. You can go wrong with ram.
