Congrats on the new ride! The Vision isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I really like it and will probably my next bike purchase, just want to keep the X and I wish they would put the saddlebags the size of the CC on there. I agree with you about the less chrome too!

I liked the CC tour just did not fit me either.

The beemer was out due to cost for me, and size. It is a monster when it comes to the engine. Runs like an F1 race car, and sounds like it too.........................My Vstrom will get me there the same way, not as nice, but still gets me there. So, the Beemer went to the chopping block too.

That left me with the Vision. I test rode an 09 and liked it back then. I will have to do very little to this bike to make it a bit better fit for me, and I like the fact of not having all that friggen chrome to worry about when traveling......................

For me? No. Wing has a flat 6 engine, no sound or feel to it at all. Bland IMO. I want a v-twin :mrgreen:

Goldwings for me have never been in the equation. I have a 37 inch inseam, and my knee caps rest againt the wings fairing and vents. Not a good match for an over 6 footer.

The X is still one of the best bikes I have owned. When I bought my X it was the first one sold in Wisconsin and Honda America called me for an interview and photo shoot. I really thought it was my freinds pulling a joke on me so I invited them over when the rep was to be here and sure enough it was for real. Never saw any pictures published in Red Rider, I guess my mug was just too ugly.

My Honda dealer recently became a Victory dealer and I always said if Victory would increase their dealer network and put one within an hour of my home I would give them a serious look.

Well now I had no excuse, so I went to the dealer and gave them a close look.

The dealer manager told me to give the Victory CC a look and I asked if he had one. He said they had one but it was at the bike show, so I went there to look at it.

It's a nice bike and all that, but I want a bike specifically for long haul touring and luggage capacity is important for me.

I'm not a large sized man, nor am I a small sized man ..... I guess I am average and that makes me lucky because the Gold Wing is the perfect fit and our next purchase.

Great luggage capacity and fantastic comfort for those " all day in the saddle " rides.

For fun around town I will keep the X's, both of them! ;)

There is plenty I don't like about the XC, luggage capacity damned sure ain't one. In fact, I DOUBT the GW has as much storage as the XCT.

I think he's getting teh Vision and the Cross Country mixed up like a lot of people do. The Vision is short on space, the saddlebags are downright puny for how huge they look on the outside. Cross country saddlebags are HUGE even compared to the Harley bags. :thumbup:

Congratulations on your new ride. I pulled the trigger on a 2010 Vision tour premium 2 years ago and never looked back.

2012s have more leg room than the earlier Goldwings. Congrats on your new Vic, looks good!:thumbup:

I traded my VTX 1800 for a Vision 8-Ball and love it. The comfort factor is off the scale with lots of weather and wind protection. Someone mentioned 50 mpg, I'm getting closer to 42. You can go about 220-ish before you need to get gas, more than double what the X could do.
