Show,
Are you going to convert the rear lugage into a fuel tank?
Are you keeping your X?
I always liked your X but was never sure if the keg on the rear was for gas or beer. :dontknow:
Good luck on your new ride.
I really havent decided if I want to sell the X or not yet. I have been riding her since early 05, and have a lot of one offs I made for her, just for my big ars. It has been a really really great scoot, but over the last 2 years or so, she just doesnt get much travel time anymore. My Vstrom has been my main ride lately and I have always wanted/needed a full blown tourer. Now I will have one. I just dont know what to do with the X. I do know if I do decide to sell it, I am not and will not spend the time to convert her back to stock to sell off the stuff. I will sell her as she sits in her latest glory with the MS batwing, and Hogtunes vs the windshield.

How many T's in that carbon fiber belt and are you going to do mod's for that. ;)
I know there are not 31Ts on it.
I hope you are going to continue with your specialty for 31Ts.
It's a completly different platform than your X. You will have to give us your review after you get some miles on it.
Thanks for all your VTX support you have given over the years.

Oh ya, since you didn't answer my question I guess it was for beer! :beer3:
Jim...
............well thanks for the kudos Jim. I can tell you this too. I am not going anywhere because this has been home for me for quite awhile and I still have interest in the VTX. Not only my own X, but I still do work for other locals here with the VTX and try to help out when I can. I also want to try to do the Colorado ride as well as the East Coast Ride this year with the X. So, I am not done here by a long shot...........................
As far as the finals..............? Well, there has not been near as much demand for them over the past say 3 years as there was back in the day when this was all comming out and being new. Further, the economy has killed expensive add ons for the most part. If you have a small side biz that works, and the prices of things keep going up and up, sooner or later it becomes priced out or over priced for the service and peeps just cant or wont spend the cash to have it. Now add in the dying bike we all ride and the demand gets even smaller...........ya know?
I understand and know what you mean. Times are not the same as when the X was the hotest bike but my X is still a favorite for me until I get older and my body says more comfort i.e. Goldwing or something. When this time comes I probably will still keep the monster X for the urge of the power smile when needed!
The X is still one of the best bikes I have owned. When I bought my X it was the first one sold in Wisconsin and Honda America called me for an interview and photo shoot. I really thought it was my freinds pulling a joke on me so I invited them over when the rep was to be here and sure enough it was for real. Never saw any pictures published in Red Rider, I guess my mug was just too ugly.
Take care and see ya on here and looking forward to your Vic review.
Jim
HEY Show - be sure to post pictures when ya get it.
Kevin
:congrats:
Sweeet! Congrats on the new ride.
:congrats: Show!! I am trying to jump the HD ship and join the Vic ranks this spring, or soon.
As far as adding an extra tank, he won't need to on the Vision, true 6 gallons and gets about 50 mpg. I know bluto got better mileage pulling a trailer with his Vision then I did on my Ultra with no trailer.
Congrats! I've been looking at the victorys as well. Hopefully next summer I can pull the trigger.
I've always kinda believed it was really a keg for beer
Great looking ride! I've thought about the Vision as well, if my wife rode more I'ld break down a fit a full blown tourer into my garage. I'ld still keep my X though...its my first cruiser..and you never forget your first ;)
Welcome to the club. My husband and I both have 09's.
The trunk just needs a tap added to it....store adult beverage and drink directly :D
Congrats - that looks awesome
..........thanks for all the congrats boys and girls, and you can bet pictures and a review will be forth coming. I hope to do another long range maiden ride with her as soon as things get warmed up with the spring rains washing the crap off the roads around here.....................

I will tell ya what Larry. In the running for a tourer for me were the BMW 1600, Harley Road Glide tour pack, Vic CC tour, and the vision. I eliminated bikes through comforts and physical size because of my baboon stature...............LOL. Anyway, the vision has a ton more room for a big guy while the others do not. Comparing the Road Glide to the Vic CC Tour, the CC has it hands down for room, not only rider and passenger room, but storage too. If I was a smaller person, I would have purchased the CC tour....................... The base line Road Glide around here is 19,900 while the CC tour is about 21 and some change. I know the CC can be purchased for a couple of k less, as I did so on my Vision.........................
I liked the CC tour just did not fit me either.
The beemer was out due to cost for me, and size. It is a monster when it comes to the engine. Runs like an F1 race car, and sounds like it too.........................My Vstrom will get me there the same way, not as nice, but still gets me there. So, the Beemer went to the chopping block too.
That left me with the Vision. I test rode an 09 and liked it back then. I will have to do very little to this bike to make it a bit better fit for me, and I like the fact of not having all that friggen chrome to worry about when traveling......................

Really a good choice and a nice looking bike, I know that you will enjoy it.
The Vision is a great ride, as is the CC. Very well balanced bikes and I liked the Cross Country as soon as I saw it. Again, Nice bike and Congrats, I'm sure you will love it :D
I knew this was comming, and it has already started on the Mo board as well as at work....................... They are starting to call me George, and the Jetson mobile....................LOL.

Congrats on the new ride, I always liked the vision, there is nothing on the road like it. I hope to get one of your finals before you call it quits. Thats if you already pulled the plug.

Congrats on the new ride! The Vision isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I really like it and will probably my next bike purchase, just want to keep the X and I wish they would put the saddlebags the size of the CC on there. I agree with you about the less chrome too!
Congrats Steve. Not really a fan but that is why there are so many different kinds of rides. Have fun with it and be safe even if not completely sane!
Congrats!!! Good luck with her...
