Yep, they have a soft felt lining that extends all the way under the lacing so it can't rub the tank. I'm one of the only shops that does it this way. Takes more time and a professional grade...

Sorry, should have been more clear. The post I quoted was Wizza's. I was just pointing out that the bib won't fit their model VTX due to the different style of gas tanks/model years.

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, your gas tank is one of the 2002-2003 internal fuel pump flanged tanks...if so, that bib will not fit your bike, it's made for a 2004+ flangeless tank.

It is possible but I can't say a one piece that would cover everything would work really well. The two options I would suggest would be:

Oh yeah, I missed the part about the leather having hardened...as mentioned by Ghost-Flame and bigdaddy1, once it turns hardened you can try to rejuvenate it but as Ghost mentioned, the cells close...

Looks like you have it all sorted out now...went from no pictures to 3 sets! LOL. Looks great though. Those two pics were the best of the set, the light and angles were just about perfect!
