I have the 1800f. I had to predrill the holes. I got the set-up with the led lights and had to put on a new set of lights because the wires kept breaking and the light system was not bright enough.

I had to take my stock seat and scoop it out and put a new gel pad in it. I am only 5 ft. I assumed most seats would be too wide and raise me up too high. My stock seat before kept me on my tiptoes....

Thanks guys! Now I have someplace to start. I hurt my back this summer and I am hoping that a softer shock will get me back on the bike without too much pain.

I don't think you will like the VTX 1800 if you plan on long rides with your wife. Friend had one and moved to a Valk. He is also very tall. Just a suggestion.
