Saturday AM is clean the bike, check out the bike, then go for a nice ride. Everything is purrfect, no problems nice hot sunny day then about 60 miles into the ride, saw something bouncing, twisted around to check and found that it was the left turn signal lense was gone, when back to find but no luck. Anyone else? and how to keep from happing again.
Thanks for any ideas.
The turn signal lens attachment system on our X"S is about the poorist I've ever seen. When you replace your signal light lens, put a small spot of clear silicone on the top edge opposite the mounting tab. This seems to help greatly in preventing the mounting tab from breaking again, and you still can readily remove the lens for bulb replacement. I replaced 3 lenses before a Honda rep told me to do this and I've not lost one since.
I had the same thing happen to me 3 times in a month then I found out about the silicone. I bought a set of the clear alternitive lenses and used silicone on them and havent lost one in over 6 months. The honda idea to go to the one screw under the bottom sucks I had hondas for years with the 2 screws through the back of the lense and never had 1 fall off.
